Good morning
Dry out and a heady 12 degrees. Rain is forecast though.
Yesterday while DH was taking big dog for his walk he passed a house where the owner was cutting down trees in his garden. Never one to miss an opportunity hubby asked what he was doing with the logs. "Take them" was the reply the owner even cut them into log sized pieces for the fire and helped OH to load them into his car. So a wood pile now drying and seasoning for another winter's use.
Not so good was the notification that one road out of the village is to be closed to traffic for 2 months in March for major gas works. This means going the other way to get to the GP and pharmacy, a 6 mile round trip instead of one and a half miles. And a trip to the supermarket will put 10 extra miles on the clock. I can foresee the traffic will be horrendous. Luckily for us we're retired but I pity people needing to get to work.
Snoozer, I hope you're back home and on the road to recovery. Take it easy.
Camelot, hope you feel better.
Hugs to anyone else who needs them, have a good day all and take care.14 -
Well, it's goodbye to the freezing, dry and bright days to the milder, rainy and grey days. There was an horrendous amount of overnight rain which is forecasted to carry on for most of the day. Even worse, tomorrow has a yellow rain warning. I'm not sure which of the types of days I prefer. My meeting was fine yesterday, I just don't want to do this kind of thing any more, however, needs must for a wee while. This morning is the pool exercise class, I'm already packed and ready. Not sure what, if anything, is happening afterwards.Hugs to all, family, friends and pets too.12

Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Back to being cold and wet again today.
I changed energy supplier a couple of weeks ago, had my final statement but still waiting for my credit to be refunded. Online chat, started with you are number 67 in the queue. Seems I have to wait up to another 14 days to get my money.
@snoozer hope you're back home
@mehefin hope Scooby is starting to improve
@remmie well done getting the logs
Take care

Morning all. Bit damp here but not so cold.
Snoozer; I do hope you are ok and back safely at home.
I phoned the electricity company yesterday regarding the lack of statements for the smart meter and it was all sorted over the phone. Luckily we are still in credit going forward but goodness knows why they couldn't do this last week when DH phoned them.
We also collected a new TV for the spare room, which DH also wants to use as a monitor for the pc. Such a lot to set up on it these days and we're now awaiting a certain cable for connecting something or other
Today we are off to Whipsnade Zoo with DD and the grandchildren. The weather doesn't look great but we will make the most of it as the tickets have to be used this month. Woolly hat, gloves and scarves definitely required.
Have a good day everyone.14 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Well it's definitely milder here but still grey and miserable, with heavy rain to come later. The strong winds have been postponed until tomorrow apparently. I had hoped to be tempted to do a bit of tidying up outside but now having second thoughts.
Fluid plans for today but probably cleaning the kitchen and bathroom to ease the Friday Tidy a bit. Such excitement.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, sad or lonely. SNOOZER I hope the news is better for you today. Healing vibes for SCOOBY's poorly foot and fingers crossed the new feeding regime helps your Dgd DP1'
Safe travels CHRISCA and ALLIE. Take care all stay safe xx

Morning all
Its been raining off and on all night and will do so all day good job we are working inside.
Robs taxi was 45 minutes late again yesterday his sister just can’t seem to be able to do anything correctly so I contacted the home and they are going to ring the taxi firm and give them the correct times, I wouldn’t mind but I had emailed her the times so she had the info right in front of her, We are going to make some cakes today for Rob to take home and share with his house mates, I shall make sure all the allergens are written down just in case anyone has any allergies.
Dinner tonight will be beef casserole with crusty bread, I made the casserole yesterday so it will just need popping in the oven when I get in, I’m not sure if dd is eating with us as she is going to see her bestie today for her birthday.
Snoozer oh my goodness I hope you get better and allowed home soon xx
Camelot get well soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Morning all,A dull and wet day here. Enjoy your class Gers.@topsyturphy , it's good to hear your DS is now making progress with his leg, it's certainly been a long haul.@Snoozer I hope you are feeling better and resting up at home.We had a quick visit from DS2 and DGS at teatime and several pieces of the Aussie crunch went missing
Asked DGS what he thought as I hadn't made it for years 'beautiful' he said once he'd swallowed
Inadvertently my cupboards got a sort out as I couldn't find the dess. coconut. They look better now anyway.
Had a long chat with friend yesterday, and a walk through the park. I need to post a birthday card today, and get one sorted for DH too.Think I'll do satay chicken tonight.Best wishes to the poodles and Scooby.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning All
A change in the weather this morning, much milder but wet and windy - not sure what's best really.
I'm feeling a bit better this morning but still not going to work, that's a step too far away from the facilities although I have stopped being sick. Need to pop out for supplies so will make sure I time it right!
Poor old Scooby Mehefin, hope things are better today.
Are you home and relaxing Snoozer?
Houses are like that Topsy! Pleased to hear your DS is making progress at last.
Enjoy the class Gers.
Sounds like Rob's sister wants it to be all about her Ruby, he's so lucky to have you.
Enjoy Whipsnade WL, I think I went there when I was about 5!
Hope you get your refund soon SO.
Coal man should be delivering today and the recycling bins due to be emptied, that's about the excitement of my day!
Take care. XX
