Rent received for my late father’s house

My father had not lived in his house for 2.5years as he was in a nursing home. Last year it was rented out to help with the nursing home fees. We intend to submit a tax return for him up to April 2025 to cover the rent that the estate will receive since his death in January. My sister and I have inherited the house but intend to sell it once we have probate. My question is should we submit a tax return for the tax year 2025-2026 once we have sold the house to show the rent that the estate has received since April 2025 to the point of sale, or when we get probate?
