Project Solar quote - thoughts and/or alternatives

Options
Hi Guys. Need some thoughts on the following quote:

11 x Evolution Maxima 490w panels - (4823kwp output) - with supposed lifetime warranty

Battery - Fox energy cube 8.6kwh (flux and force charge) with supposed 15 year warranty

My annual consumption is around 5900 kw

I've been quoted £12500 ( cash) with including installation and also have been told that they will price match any other equal quote.

I have a south-ish facing roof which is roughly 28m^2 area

Please let me know if this is a good quote.

If not, which companies would you recommend I get a quote from? Thanks in advance.

I went with Project Solar, can't say a bad word about them, after sales service is excellent; but they are not the cheapest

You have a very low usage, and the cost is very high.
What's your plan to make it work?
Where are you planning to sell the excess?

That price seems high to me.
I'm sure @Screwdriva will know someone who can do better.

I'm not sure many people would describe 5900kWh/yr as "very low", it's more than double the average for a Prifile Class 1 home, and more than the average for a Profile Class 2 one?

This looks eerily like a Project Solar quote- I'd research their reputation online before proceeding with them.

As always, I'll do my best to help to help any MSE member. 11 Sharp Bifacial panels + Tesla PW3 (13.5kW) with Gateway 2 and bird netting should cost no more than £11.3K. This is vastly superior to the quoted kit and at a lower price!
    -  10 x 400w LG + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial Panels + SE 3680 HD Wave Inverter + SE Optimizers. SE London.
    -  Triple aspect. (22% ENE/ 33% SSE/ 45% WSW)
    -  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (the most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me if I can help with any energy saving!

I'm sure prices vary by region. It's all very well these "shouldn't cost more than" comments, but you need to find an installer prepared to do the work at your actual location.
  • I had solar panels installed in Oct 2018 (14 panels 4kw ) + solar iboost for domestic hot water. Cost was around £5000.
I reckon I've just about broken even in Feb 25 made up of savings on electricity, export payments & FIT payments. I've considered having a battery installed but can't see it being cost effective. My annual consumption last year was 2700kwh.

Steer well clear of Project Solar. They tell you all sorts of things in their sales pitch which aren't reflected in the actual written quote they provide. They massively over charge for what they offer. The materials in the original quote above cost under £4k so there's £8k of fitting costs and profit for them. A reputable installer would charge more like £8k while still making a healthy margin.
