Not a question, but this made me chuckle.

I was literally typing out a query a few mins ago asking if anyone has any recent experience on how long a V778 number retention document takes to arrive.

As I was about to hit 'post' - the postie pushes it through the letterbox 

(If anyone was wondering, it was 1 week btw)

Over the past few years I've found that if you can do the transaction online any papers required back from the DVLA arrive within a calendar week at the latest.

This was for my number that was on a car that is 34 years old - they said I had to do paper forms (and send a Cheque!! - took an hour to find the cheque book) - I queried in online chat and they said it was due to the age of the car, they couldnt automatically assign a number that old.   In the end it reassigned the 1991 'H-reg' which was great as I still have those plates.

I guess as I had to send everything off by post + cheque I was wondering.

Not just this forum, the whole internet has spying eyes.  I see the postman and no delivery for me so message the ebay seller
stating the item still has not arrived then the postman comes back saying he forgot to drop the package.

Or the package arrives the day after contacting the seller/shop asking for delivery details. Happens far too often for
it to be a coincidence.
