Letter of Claim - DCBL £170 (over 5 years ago!!!)

Looking for a bit of advice from a new debt recovery company to me (DCBL), previously I have ignored letters from private parking companies, on 3 occassions and they have simply gone away.
But this Kim Heaton is very persistent with her photocopying. I received an initial notice of debt recover in November 2024 for a contravention that took place over 4 years ago. This followed with a final notice 2 months later, with the notice of intended legal action shortly after.
I can’t recall the actual infringement as this was over 4 years ago (during lockdown) and I can only imagine that the driver may have parked their to either use the shop, or the bank near by. The shop advised to ignore it due to the period the country was going through and I didn’t hear anything else.
Any advice/direction on this would be much appreciated.

If she actually exists !
The claimant parking company has 6 years to sue you in England and Wales
Study the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum
Study post 4 regarding ignoring powerless debt collectors letters
Study post 2 if you receive a Letter of Claim followed by a court claim
Which parking company ?1 -
The company is G24. I’ve read up that there is 6 years which is why I was a bit surprised that it had been left so long.
I am a true Newbie as I can’t even find the threads. I’ll have a look for the ones you mentioned.2 -
Top of the forum, below the yellow banners, 3rd topic down ( so above this thread )1

I’ll have a look there now thanks, I’m just hoping I’ve done right in ignoring DCBL, that’s all.0

Definitely, nobody should be engaging with dcbl, or any powerless debt collectors, so 100% correct in ignoring fools like them1

Brilliant, I have gone over the posts you have suggested and it seems I am right not to contact DCBL.Regarding the second post & plan A, as this is 4 years on and has been passed from the initial parking company to a debt recovery company, is it still worth complaining to the retailer?0

Always worth complaining to the retailer.1

Brilliant, thanks for your advice. I’ll play that out and post up again when/if a court summons arrives.0

And we are back, I have since complained to the retailer, but they have said there is nothing to do. Despite several phone calls and emails.
Today I have received a LoC from DCB Legal stating the basis of claim, parking on private land etc and I am liable as Keeper/driver. They have now given me a further 30 days outlining next steps obviously encouraging paying their invoice. They are encouraging me to respond to them on their website.Having gone over other threads at this stage, am I right that I should respond to this letter with the template outline in the 2nd thread on the newbies post? The one with 2 questions at the bottom about VAT and costs.
Any advice on this is much appreciated.0
