Set up a weekly deposit of £2. This will satisfy the RBS rewards. Withdraw it from your primary pocket back to your RBS account every so often. It's pretty much instant. I cycle the same £10-20 around every month or two.

You can also ignore the 90 day expiry for the open banking link. The DD that gets set up is independent of this and will continue after the open banking link expires. The link is only required if you want to take advantage of any of Plum's "smart" savings features, which are completely optional.
Fortnightly will suffice for Natwest and RBS.

I have weekly direct debits of £2 to Plum from RBS. I don't bother moving the Plum money into any of their places that pay interest as I just transfer it back to RBS once every few weeks. It's literally the same £12 that goes round and round.
Thanks. So where does your money sit within Plum?
It just sits in the primary pocket. I did set up an easy access account too but it only pays 3.74% and I don't leave my £2's in there long enough to earn interest on it (think it would be less than 1p a year). I tend to withdraw it back to the RBS current account when it gets to £10.

Plum looks different to any other accounts/app I'd used before so I literally only use it for this one thing and also found it confusing in the beginning.

Thanks for all the responses. I chatted to someone at Plum this morning and I think I have it all sorted.

Like I said to the guy at Plum, it’s the language that I find most confusing. Asking about a problem with my primary pocket sounds much more like a question an old lady would ask her doctor rather than a banking issue.
