Allie, may I be cheeky and ask where you're going in Derbyshire. My part of the country.7 -
Morning all, we too had sun earlier but it's gone back to grey cloud and it's cold again. I did 3 black sacks of paperwork shredding yesterday and it's out to be collected this morning, don't know why we kept so much stuff, most of it from 2003 🤷♀️
Today we're going up Dad's to have a coffee and pay some bills, sadly he's back to not eating much again but he's told me not to keep nagging him about it so I have to let him get on with it.
RedRuby you shouldn't be the one to suffer financially for Rob just because his sister can't sort him out.
TA sorry that your friend has cancelled again, her DH seems to be leading her a merry dance. Perhaps you could put the peas in your hm soup or a stew ?
Allie have a good day wandering around the vans and then a great time away.
Coxy fingers crossed the job works out. Glad the drain work is finished.
Right breakfast calls. Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing. Take care all, wrap up warm if you're going out.

Morning everyone
I was late getting up this morning, I had a really weird dream last night which woke me and then couldn't get back to sleep.
DD got little one a nurse appointment yesterday, who determined her stomach isn't impacted, which DD then relayed to her dietician, who said she really doesn't know what to do next and will speak to her consultant today.
She managed to sort out a child psychologist, she has an appointment for Friday evening just for herself to discuss little ones problems, then little one will be assigned a play therapist. It's in Edinburgh, so not too far - I bought DD a family and friends railcard last night to make travel a little bit cheaper. Great gran and great grandad will help with the cost of the therapist, £70 for 50 minutes, but worth it if it helps little one.
Remmie - I'm looking forward to our Lidl opening, they seem to have really good offers and freebies. It's meant to be the end of February.
Chrisca - which nice warm country are you off to?
Coxy - well done on the new job
Right best get some jobs done. Hope everyone has a good day x14 -

Morning! Lovely and sunny! I have overdone things a bit the last couple of days, so my ankle is now not playing ball and I'm scaring fatty because I have to use the stick. Very annoying because I want to go play on the allotment. Today now is doing the washing, probably three loads and seeing if it will dry on the whirly. Best not make too many plans, so a fairly lazy day today...Ruby, how annoying, exactly what Coxy said..Coxy, that doesn't sound great, but at least it's part time...nanny, you can't make a horse drink if it isn't going to listen to you so absolve yourself of guilt because he's being a stubborn insert swear word. Allie, have a lovely time! Chris, you too..NRA, sounds like the one that was doing the rounds, it is really horrible...glad you're better. Gers , glad you enjoyed the workout
TA, pea and ham soup? Take care all, wrap up, poodles, hope you're better...

Morning all. We seem to have escaped the frost this morning but it's still blumin' cold. Sunshine forecast for later today and another below freezing night to come, then it's supposed to warm up a bit for a few days but of course it will be wet too. Dry/cold or warm/wet - take your pick!
Nothing exciting on the cards for today although I'm thinking I should do a clean/tidy up of the kitchen store cupboards - partly because they need doing and partly to remind myself of what's in there. I used up the last of some tagliatelle last night for tea but won't buy anymore just yet as I've linguine and pasta twists to use first. Tonight's tea is an easy one - a beef & veg pasty with leftover mash and cabbage. I just need to make some gravy and decide on afters.
@Chrisca - I don't think sun cream has a date on it, it's usually a little pic of a jar on the back with a number next to it that shows how many months it will be active, once opened. Of course, that relies on you knowing when it was opened!Maybe write the date on the bottle next time?
@Ruby - It's sad you didn't get to see Rob yesterday but I'm glad you've refused to invoice his sister. After all, you're providing a service that needs to be paid for and shouldn't be expected to foot the bill yourself.
@Coxy - Congratulations on securing a job, hope it isn't too long for them to do the paperwork. And well done on a finished drain.
@dp1 - Poor LO, she's a real medical mystery!
Right, time to get a wriggle on before the day runs away with itself. Healing thoughts for the Poodles, fingers crossed the Sleep Fairy visits the sleepless and banishes weird dreams, hugs for anyone needing them. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
@dp1 We're going to Negril in Jamaica. Probably our last 'big' one unless we win the lottery!@YorksLass I looked for some clue but nothing near a date or anything was printed anywhere. They'll all get binned after we get back and start afresh@Redruby can't SW get involved at all re payment?9

Good afternoon from Mehefinland
Cold wind but sunny currently. Daffodils are poking their noses out so spring must be on the way. Got a few in flower.
Had farrier out to Scoobymare yesterday and she has a big abscess in her hoof - he dug around and a whole load of pus came out. She is still very lame and I am poulticing her regularly to try to draw it out. She keeps 'dabbing' her foot on the floor and dragging it back so I've lost a few already as she pulls the bandage off. Turned her out in the field for a while this morning but she just stood more or less in the same spot all the time she was out. Very pottery on her feet at the moment. After 2 nearly sleepless nights worrying about her, and the additional workload keeping her in, and the others on shortened time I am exhausted .
The free school meals people turned up at the library yesterday and it sounds as if it all went ok. I did pop my nose in for a few minutes to make sure everything was to their satisfaction/needs. All good , so that is a relief. They will be there for the rest of this week, and hopefully that will be it. Half term here next week so they won't be needing us. Whether it will go on, will depend on the speed they can repair and/or repurpose rooms at the school. Yesterday they had electricity, but no heating and no internet throughout the school. Early days I suppose.
Right, off to do the next lot of chores - keep warm if you can. Hugs and spoons as always

TA - how about donating them as they are still in date to the Food Bank
Ruby - maybe recommend that she pay you the back pay, and then one week in advance instead of afterward. As long as she will keep up paying in advance, you will be okay with taking him out. Though if he is no longer at home, shouldn't someone else be taking care of his benefits now?5
