Morning again.
It's dry out there, so was yesterday, but so cold. However, it's forecast to warm up a bit I believe.
Yesterday was an ok day, just did a bit of tidying and general housework, then went to visit my friend, as I usually do on Mondays.
I must go to the shops today, then it will be the quiz tonight.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.16 -
hi all
Bright and cold here but I’d rather that than grey!
Off to the caravan and motorhome show at the NEC - more research for the planned new campervan. Bdog and I are off to Derbyshire for a few days tomorrow - fingers crossed it stays dry!Take care all

Morning all. - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. Chilly here too.Getting back to the exercise class yesterday was so good, and hard too. Six weeks of not doing too much showed, and I wasn't alone in feeling it. Seeing all the others was good too even though I never stay for refreshments. I also gave one of the others some unwanted hearing aid batteries so more stuff out. Later I was inspired to clear the accumulated clutter from the worktop in the utility room. Another wee win. 🏆
This morning I've got a nail appointment then I'll got a bag to take to the CS via the tip. Exciting eh?I hope that Rob made it to your house in time @Ruby. Hugs to all.14 -
Morning allCold again this morning. It's warming up after today apparently, warming up in time for us to fly off to warmer climbs on Sunday. I knew that would happen!Digging out some suncream yesterday and I found about 10 bottles of the stuff. I seem to have been buying new stuff and not throwing away the old stuff. It doesn't have a sell by date either lolApart from that a bit of housework and some ironing and that's about it. Toad in the hole for dinner tonight.Have a good day all x14

Morning all
Cold here but it looks to be a fairly nice day although that brisk wind is still here.
Rob didn’t come yesterday 🙄 his sister promised she would set up the taxis to bring him here over the weekend - she didn’t as she said she was too stressed she has also sent no money for him for this week, she asked me if I could pay for him and then invoice her at the end of each week which I refused to do I have done this in the past and waited weeks to be paid back, they still owe me £80 from December and I have bills and a mortgage to pay, the sw agreed that I shouldn’t be paying for him they are a really flakey family and I don’t think I would ever be paid back, so we shall see what today brings.
My other two people are coming today and they have asked to go to the cinema to see the Captain America film which is not my type of film but I’m happy to take them we will have lunch before we go in.
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry it’s all made just needs putting in the oven later and some rice to cook, dd is working a late shift so not here for dinner.
I have put a wash on this morning and I will hang it on the line before I go out.
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Good morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x Glad you enjoyed the exercise class 😊
I didn’t manage to get on yesterday. I had a really poor nights’ sleep as I had an interview booked for yesterday morning. Long story short, the new house whilst lovely, has thrown up some surprises and our budget will only stretch so far. I have managed to secure a part-time role which will help financially but also give me some days/time at home. Win win. Not sure when I’m starting as there’s paperwork to do, but hopefully in a few weeks 🤞🏻The drains are now fixed - hurrah! So glad we took the extra drain cover insurance when we moved 🙏🏻 We will continue with DD’s bedroom today - every floor panel needs lifting in order to insulate/sound proof underneath (plus fix the creaking). Better to do it all properly now 👍
I’m at WI this evening so a quick dinner of N1gella’s Mac n cheese before I go.Don’t blame you re: Rob’s family @RedRuby1231 - they are taking the mick.Have a good day everyone

Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
@RedRuby1231 it seems so sad Rob has to miss out because of his family, but you're right you can't be expected to pay for him out of your own pocket.
Sunny again today but it's so cold, managed to get the laundry line dried yesterday.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.14 -
Morning
Another bright start to the day, still cold but things are looking up. The end of the week is promising double figures.
After yesterday's burst of activity I have no idea what today will bring. When I checked my Lids app yesterday I found that they had given me a £5 off of a £5 spend voucher. I also have a voucher for a free apple turnover and free veg. All last until the end of the week so I'm really trying not to go until then.
Allie, may I be cheeky and ask where you're going in Derbyshire. My part of the country.
Ruby, Robs sister sounds a piece of work what a cheek to even ask that when you're obviously doing the best for her brother.
Have a good day all, enjoy the sunshine if you have it. Hugs to all who need them.15 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It doesn't know what to do here. It looked promising when the sun was trying to get up earlier but the clouds have taken over now. It's supposed to come back later but no warmth coming with it sadly.
Tuesday lunch cancelled again. This time DH problems are back and DF is at the band end with him refusing to see a doctor. He did have an appointment about 3 weeks ago but he cancelled it! Their DD is coming over near the end of the week (they live near the east coast) so maybe she will be able to talk some sense into him. I expect fireworks between them as she will take no nonsense off him!
So I am at a loose end now and the blooming cold weather isn't tempting me to go out just for the sake of it. There is nothing I need. I have a small white wash on the go but that can go upstairs to dry. I sorted the tins and jars out yesterday and wondered why I have 2 tins of garden peas when I don't even eat them! Still in date so can live there a bit longer for justin.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. RUBY poor Rob reliant on such a useless sister. I hope you get your owed money soon. Take care all, stay safe and warm."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all, 0 deg. and grey here. I'm sat at the laptop with a crocheted throw over my legs.Yesterday I went to see my old friend/neighbour.We ring each other weekly but I haven't actually seen her since well before Xmas. I ended up going on the bus as DH had to go and see DS2, but he did pick me up. We spent a nice couple of hours chatting, she made me a drink herself so is slowly getting more independent. She has the biggest collection of cookbooks, + just added the Jamie air fryer book so I had a glance through that. I spotted a similar recipe that DH makes for one of his Greek nights, feta baked with honey which goes in the oven & told him about it.We'd never thought about doing it that way so may give it a try next timeDrove past DB1s on the way home but there was no-one in so rang him last night. They always put the phone on speaker so you get 2 for the price of one
They will probably call over the weekend as it's DH birthday.
I need to get something out of the freezer for tea, and do my Oc*** order, hopefully for tomorrow. With DH being at home since his op, the fridge is certainly emptying faster!RR, poor Rob, you do have to feel sorry for his circumstances.Hope LO gets an appointment dp1.I need to just do a couple more cards to complete for our schoolfriends group, and had to order some square envelopes. Why there aren't enough when I buy the cards in a pack with them in is a mystery. I've loads of rectangular cards so will have to use some of them up, I just prefer squareEnjoy your break Allie, hope it helps the campervan quandry.Hugs to everyone on this chilly day, the sky here seems to be showing bits of blue.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
