Dose anyone know of a credit card provider that offers purchase protection against theft of a item that was purchased with a credit card ?

I'm not aware of any currently. I know this used to be a service offered by some credit card providers, but I think it largely died out some years ago. Your best best really is to make sure your home contents insurance covers what you need - particularly in respect of single high-value items which you often need to specify on the application form.

American Express do, on their charge and credit cards (at least on the ones I hold). There's a bunch of terms and exclusions, of course.0

As others have said AmEx is the main one these days however the limit is relatively low and it excludes any claim that is covered by anything else, like your Home Insurance.0 -
