New FIrst Direct account - pending debits

I've completed the switch last week and I used the debit card on Friday for the first time.  Since then, I have four pending debits - I don't think I've had more than one or two, at the most, pending on other bank accounts - almost all complete instantly.

Anyone else seen this?

All debit card transactions show as pending and normally clear late afternoon the following day. Direct debits due to come out the next working day also show as pending.

Three of them have cleared this afternoon.  The odd thing is that one purchase was on Friday and the other two on Saturday.

It's not odd really, it depends when the transactions are pushed through by the seller and processed

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Maybe just a coincidence or the fact that they're my first usages of the new account (some extra checks in the background?).

Most likely just a coincidence, if they were doing checks on payments, they'll hold them and ask you I suspect
