Where to find light pendant with small (50mm) base?

I'm looking for a simple light pendant to replace a ceiling light. The only ones that I can find have an 80mm base, but we have a ceiling rose which has a small diameter opening for a light fitting (around 50mm). Does anyone know anywhere that sells light pendants which might fit?

First hit on google -> https://www.enamelshades.co.uk/products/ceramic-small-dome-ceiling-rose-whiteDigging a little longer might throw up one smaller, but.... Due to the lack of space, wiring will have to be done in a separate junction box hidden above the ceiling - Do you have easy access through the floor above ?

Hmm. I found a few with reduced diameter, including around 60mm, mostly either metal or ceramic and marketed for use in heritage style installations. For example, White Steel Ceiling Rose 60mm - Enamel Shades. Nothing as small as 50mm though.0

I would personally grab a nice looking 50mm diameter junction box and drill a hole in the centre.0

I've had a look around for you, and I can't see any that small.
I think you might end up having to make one. I would do this using a very small junction box like this one for the electrical connection: British General 13A 3 Terminal In-Line Connector 30 x 70 x 17mm White - Screwfix
You would also need to create a cable clamp - a piece of wood that was long enough to go into the ceiling void could have the cable clamped to it with a jubilee clip or cable tie (a non-metallic cable clamp arrangement would be potentially safer).
You would need a cover plate and a way to attach it. You might look at conduit box lids like this one: PVC Conduit Box Lid Round White | Toolstation as a starting point. As it is PVC, it could be sanded or cut with a hole saw down to your 50mm diameter. You could use white-headed screws to fit it to the piece of wood that is already in the ceiling as the cable clam, but you would need to be clear that you were clear of the cables. (White-headed screws can be made by applying metal primer on ordinary screw heads and painting with ordinary paint). Alternatives would include using a galvanised steel conduit lid and attaching it to the ceiling rose with a couple of tiny neodymiummagnets glued into the ceiling with epoxy resin.
I can't see anything available off the shelf for a diameter less than 65mm, and even that would still need a junction box and a cable clamp making: Ceramic Small Dome Ceiling Rose - White - Enamel Shades Might you be prepared to cut a small section of the ceiling rose out to allow you to fit one of these? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
