Possibly by design - fewer people will ditch and switch if they have to call/email to do it.1 -

At least when you do call there is a bare minimum of initial waffle and menu options to listen through and the call is answered straight away (from my 3 recent experiences) and all sorted in a few minutes from first picking up the phone.I came, I saw, I melted0 -
