Not sure what  an optical barrier turnstile is nor is it clear how the accident happened? Did you walk forward assuming it'd open and it didnt? Did you try to tailgate someone out and it closed on you? Did you personally activate it and it closed too quickly?

If they're like the ones at work you have to individually activate them using your pass and if you try to tailgate through they will close on you but thats what they're there to stop happening and ours are lower so for most people it'll close on their body. They did manage to catch a Just Stop Oil protester when they stormed our building in the summer, can't say security were in a rush to release them.

There is a bit of an urban myth that apologising, saying your sorry etc is a millimetre or two from admitting liability and in our increasingly litigious society people dont then want the injury claim to follow. Its not true, in most cases, you can see someone hurt themselves and be sorry they are hurt without it being anything to do with your blame but many will just not see it being worth the risk.

It's a barrier turnstile with two full body heght toughened glass doors that open when you scan your pass,There was no tailgating as no one was else around and.was walking through as normal when the doors decided to shut on me.
Health & Safety's last communication to me eight days ago said that the CCTV footage would be looked at and  I've had no other communication since,  despite me prompting them for an update.   I think that you are correct in that they are worried about an injury claim and not about anyone else being injured.

I suggest you write a big sign and stick it to the barrier that says 'DANGER - OUT OF ORDER, RISK OF INJURY'.

    See what that does
