good morning people.some advice on what to do about a parking fine would be great.i received a dodgy looking email yesterday into my spam box from debt collection agency ZZPS.i haven't received any type of letter regarding this initial fine so i've checked to make sure my driving licence is up to date[which it is]but on checking with Motability, which my car is leased through, the dealership has registered the V5 log at my old address.in the process of ordering the car and the time to take delivery we moved but the dealer had been told of this and all paperwork on delivery states my new address.i will be visiting them 1st thing tomorrow to discuss this but after that who do i contact next about the fine? the debt collection agency or parking company? sorry for being so long winded but i've hardly slept worrying about this.

Where do I start?Newbies/FAQ thread. It’s not a fine.2

Any parking charge company is unlikely to have your personal email address, so there’s a good chance that it’s spam. Follow the advice in the newbie thread.0

Ensure that Motability have the correct address for the service of papers, and that they update the V5c in their possession with the dvla
Ignore ZZPS, powerless debt collectors ( I doubt that its spam )
Name the parking company and Ensure that you email the DPO at the parking company with your correct address for the service of papers, adding the VRM details and any reference, so that they dont use the old address in future
Wait for a Letter of Claim or court claim, especially if this is within England and Wales2 -
This isn't correct.zzps email a lot of people. Daily.Devongardener said:Any parking charge company is unlikely to have your personal email address, so there’s a good chance that it’s spam. Follow the advice in the newbie thread.3 -
When you contact the DPO of the PPC, make sure you tell them, they must erase your old address and that word is important as it has a special meaning where data is concernedGr1pr said:Name the parking company and Ensure that you email the DPO at the parking company with your correct address for the service of papers, adding the VRM details and any reference, so that they dont use the old address in future2 -
First of all you will need to find out what this relates to, if it's about parking or similar on private land it won't be a fine, however you will still need to fin out what it is and deal with it appropriately - that is do not ignore it.That is your first step.If this is a parking charge notice / parking ticket issued by a private, that is not council or police, it is not a fine or a penalty. If you have a third party involved with the vehicle, its important not to call it suchFrom the Plain Language Commission:

OK but are they doing that speculatively phishing a list of emails they’ve acquired, or are they able to access the email addresses of drivers who have had parking violation notices issued?ChirpyChicken said:

The company is One Parking Solutions and its a fine for parking in a carpark outside my local co-op.as I've yet to receive any kind of letter I'm in the dark for what exactly I've done wrong.it's not just me plenty of other people have received fines as well.0

Nobody has received fines from One Parking Solutions Ltd
Private parking companies dont issue fines, magistrates do
It will relate to a pcn issued by OPS at that location for the alleged breach of the parking contract on that private property, so an outstanding unpaid invoice
Follow the advice I gave you above, plus what Le_Kirk mentioned too , planning ahead
Ignore ZZPS , it doesn't matter where they got any contact details, take it as a heads up to rectify data issues2 -
Which Co-op? Has it appeared on the forum before in another OPS thread? We have loads.suzy38 said:The company is One Parking Solutions and its a fine for parking in a carpark outside my local co-op.as I've yet to receive any kind of letter I'm in the dark for what exactly I've done wrong.it's not just me plenty of other people have received fines as well.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
