ClarityCheck.com unwanted subscription

Hi, I wanted to check a phone number calling me so I signed up for a one off £0.99 reverse lookup. It says you can cancel before 7 days or its £19.99 per week. Trouble is they never sent me a welcome email and info. pack on how to cancel. I've been billed 4 x £19.99 already and there is no way to cancel. The chat bot they say to use is unavavilable. I've emailed help@claritycheck.com and support@claritycheck.com but no answer. Anyway without my email address they won't be able to identify me. The bank has blocked the transactions and suggested emailing them for refund. Has anyone managed to get a refund?
TIA

No use to you now but there are several of those number checkers online and they are all free to use.

  • But Swingaloo they don't identify the caller. If you can signpost me to one that does ..and for free I would be grateful 🙏

If it's important that they speak to you they will leave a message. No message = blocked caller, after a couple of times.

Surely you must know the email address you used?

Thanks for your post, BPL. It rang a bell, and I checked my Paypal account (don't usually.) This company has taken four payments from Paypal. I had authorised a 50p number check just over a month ago. A couple of weeks later they took another 50p payment - a little tester, I suppose - and since then two payments for £29.50! I've reported it to Paypal and cancelled the "authorisation" that they'd somehow managed to scam, and kept a copy of my report. Hoping that's the end of it, but I'll keep checking, and a warning to all about these crooks.
