Why is my gas likely to be costing so much all of a sudden?

Well just to update. I turned the boiler off last night & woke to a 0.00000kwh usage and a 30p spend which I then realised was the standing charge. 

So at least I know it's not a faulty meter then.

Does your display still show usage at same time each morning, as the pic you posted?

If so, think you'll need to get up earlier to try to identify reason, go round and feel radiators, towel rail, check water.

The bar chart? 

I checked for it and there was nothing whatsoever at 5am. 
It said 30p spent, 29p of which is the standing charge.
