I want block a contact as it will cause offence but don't want to see the texts. Is the best way to archive them? So I don't see them but they don't know theyre blocked. I can't work out how to archive tbhb

Either pop them into archive, or just block them. Personally if you really don't want to engage, blocking is the best option1

Failing to reply to messages because you don’t see them will likely cause offence anyway, so simpler just to blockEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur3

When you say:
"I want block a contact as it will cause offence but don't want to see the texts"
Do you actually mean you DON'T want to block a contact?1 -
Click on Chats and then gently swipe their chat to the left. There you will see the option to Archive.textbook said:

But as aforementioned, they may take offence at your ignoring their messages anyway.0 -
They're gonna take offence if I either block or archive to ignore. Possibly archive slightly less. I can't engage with this individual anymore or could get prosecuted. I may even change my sim and phone I guess they'll just think my phone was lost. They've currently blocked meBFBW said:

If you shouldn't engage because of risk of prosecution, then I would block them.textbook said:
