What's worse is that the management company can take possession of your house if you fail to pay, then convert the freehold to essentially a leasehold, without the ability to revert it. And there is no recourse to challenge performance or fees, which are uncapped. It is a blatant scam. I pulled out of a purchase immediately when it was revealed it included a fleecehold charge. Later, I found the builder had deliberately built the new roadway non-standard so they could claim the council refused to adopt it and thus justify the charge.
