If you are thinking of moving from a GIA to a S&S ISA then you may want to consider shares, investment trusts and ETFs rather than OIEC funds as provided you have money ready in a S&S ISA then you can time the purchase and selling to within seconds of each other.2 -
There's always premium bonds for some of it - generally poor "returns", but you never know and they are tax free.

Average prize rate is 3.8% but may go down soon ( 3.6% ?) However with no tax they compare reasonably OK with other easy access accounts if you have to tax on the interest.0
