Morning allMorning Gers, thanks for starting us off.Dry out there this morning but still feeling chilly, again!I've had a headboard on Faceache to sell since last summer and someone is actually coming for it today, but apart from that nothing exciting going on. Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's damp and grey here, yesterday was bitterly cold, with a raw East wind.
I'm going to a friend's 80th birthday party this afternoon at the local golf club, should be nice.
Nothing else of note happening today, hope everyone else is ok and has a good day.
Take care folks

I've made it downstairs - even though I can't stay in bed once awake I really want to sometimes, like today. I don't have central heating so the cold is ever present, especially in these days of minus temperatures.Yesterday I did a big mixed wash which is draped over the airer with the dehumidifier running. The bedding will have to wait for another day. Thanks for the comments about technology, it's really useful for me. I can't reach any of the window blinds because of the very large sills and I don't like curtains so having Alexa enabled blinds is the answer. That, along with the table and bedside lights and electric blanket are voice controlled or via the app. The internet can be a thing of wonder (I wonder how we managed without it before). I'm glad that I was at that middling age where I could take to it and learn easily and didn't join the dinosaur club - now it's about keeping up.When my DM was just beginning to become frail I encouraged and coached her to use an iPad which meant that, when she became much less mobile, she could still engage with friends and family via email and Facetime as well as keep abreast of news and TV programmes. Mind you, she regularly came across 'problems' which always turned out to be the 'bad workman and tools' scenario and chuntered on about how her iPad hated her.
She kept a lively and interested view of the world, her biggest joy was being able to write to her German family in German. My joy was giving her that freedom. I've not explored the recent AI stuff and not sure that I really want to or need to, maybe I've reached my limit!
This morning I may treat myself to breakfast out. The weather is dry though grey and uninviting but I simply can't stay indoors all day.@Scarlet - enjoy the birthday party, I hope that there's some yummy cake. Have a good day everyone.12 -
Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
It's cold and wet here with the chance of snow - it's snowing as I type
Hope you all have a good weekend and keep warm and safe. x13 -
Morning all. Grey, drizzly and dreary here.
We have a friend staying with us for the weekend so will pootle out for lunch somewhere later on then come back and watch the rugby. Tonight we are at a 70th birthday party so will meet up with some others there.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and no one gets any snow!13 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Brr another cold start (-1) but so far we have been spared the sleet/snow/rain that was forecast. Instead it just looks grey and miserable. Amazingly we had sun yesterday afternoon but no warmth in it.
Today's excitement is the SS with DS around lunchtime, it depends on what time he finishes work. My list of essentials only is ready and just 'cos I can now see a bit of daylight in the freezer doesn't mean I have to stuff it to capacity again. It's rather nice finding what I am looking for without a big rummage. It's taken me since January last year to get down to one freezer and, better still, not having to rummage in the remaining one. Now I need to start working my way through all the tins, jars and packets in the grocery cupboards! I've always been a food hoarder so it hasn't been easy to try and cut back now it's just me.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe and warm xx

Morning everyone
Grey, drizzly and cold here.
Not sure what I'm doing today, may see little one depending on how she is. I did see her briefly yesterday as she wanted me to collect her Valentines card she'd made from school and take it round to their house before work. She was wearing Valentines pyjamas ! I didn't know there was such a thing.
If I don't go down to see her I have lots of jobs to get on with, including sorting some photos onto Snapfish to get prints ordered. I'm wanting new ones of little one and nephew to go in frames - it's a job I really dislike doing!
My uncles' funeral isn't until 26th February, luckily it's the day before I go to London as I wouldn't have liked my mam to have to go alone.
Right I'm going to stop waffling and get on. I hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers x
We are resuming the decorating prep today in DDs bedroom. Other than that a fairly quiet day. It’s sticky chicken, pak Choi and rice for dinner later. One of my crafting photos is on the forum homepage - it’s the cushion covers I made from a duvet. Fame at last!!
Enjoy the birthday parties @WickedLady4 and @ScarletRibbons.Have a good day all
