EDF Essentials 1Yr Mar25v6
Completely confused. I just received an email from MSE saying act now quickly because there are only 2 deals left before the price cap rise annoucement on 25th Feb. But when I go to check what deals are better all the “deals” are saying I will pay more
. I’m not sure if this is based on the price cap now or if it’s predicting for me? I’m not sure what to do ??

Most fix deals you will be paying more but perhaps not as much as the expected rises in April and October
Plus a fix gives you security and if you can get a fix with a zero exit fee (Octopus) you can switch anytime you like2 -
The tool does not know about future increases , so you could be paying a lot more than it’s saying. Assuming you have told it the correct tariff you are currently on1

So EDF have offered their Simply Fixed Direct 1yr Feb26V6. Which is more expensive than the one I am on now - EDF Essentials 1yr Mar25v6. In fact it’s circa 7% more expensive - which is the amount they are predicting the price cap will rise to on April 1st. Home Energy are offering a huge amount less but it’s a variable deal so on April 1st will no doubt rise to near enough what EDF are offering. Both have no exit fees. I think I may have left it a bit late and so missed all the good fixes - so now I am tempted to just move to the standard variable price cap in April and see what happens. I am so fed up with this - I’m beginning to wish there was just one price for everyone again!! And if this country’s leaders looked after us property we would all get the best price possible instead of having to gaze into an imaginary Crystal Ball every year!! Okay rant over. Any advice/help/pointers would be much appreciated. Yours Grumpily
