Gas Meter Registered a wrong address (EON)

Good afternoon all

I am hopeful someone can help me

In short, i purchased a property that had been split into 2 dwellings with two sets of gas and electric meters (i will call them unit 151 and 153)

Before i purchased the property the one set of gas and electric meters had been removed from 153 which only left one set of gas and electric meters in 151. The title had all been updated with the valuation office so it is legally classed as 1 property. The mistake i made is calling the property 153

The gas and electric was then extended from 151 to cover the entire property

The issue i have is that the entire property is now know as 153 and when i am trying to upgrade the gas supply the national database is saying the the metres belong to 151 and not 153 so is coming back with an error

The national database needs to remove the reference to 151 in its entirety and and put the mpan codes in for 153

I have been trying to solve this for 2 years and i cant have another winter with not enough gas so i am desperate to resolve this

You are correct that the national database needs to be updated - I would have thought that your supplier would have done this in conjunction with your meter operator - there are specific data flows that cover this.

Why would this mean you won't have enough gas?

I can see how this is inconvenient, but when you say:
i am trying to upgrade the gas supply
what exactly are you trying to do?
If you are receiving energy bills for 151 as the account holder, and are paying them, does it make any difference that 151 has been absorbed into 153?

Currently I have an incoming gas supply which was sized to service a single 3 bedroom dwelling which now serves the equivalent of 2 properties

cadent have carried out a gt1 survey and confirmed the gas supply needs increasing and an upgrade to the meter which o can’t do until this address issue is concluded

I need to increase the gas supply to serve the larger property which means an upgrade to the meter and as the meter is registered to 151 and my details talk about 153 they won’t do it

i think it is a case of ‘computer says no’

li agree with your comments I have been paying the bills so why does it matter

IIRC your local council controls the main property database which is then used by Royal Mail, the DNOs, etc.  If that's wrong then it’ll always bounce back as Computer Says No.
Other forumites may have better advice, and your local council should also know.
Please come back and tell us how it went.
