  • Ah sorry a typo on my end. It was on and I’ve turned it off! I assume I’m within my rights to turn it off and leave it off?

    I agree. Turn it off and see what happens. If anyone complains and it gets traced back to you then you ask them to demonstrate where it says this is your responsibility. You might find that no-one actually notices because no-one was actually using it to begin with.

    But do not jump to any conclusions. As has already been mentioned you could well be better off lighting the cupboard than trying to make some other arrangement.

    Just checking if you pay a monthly service charge fee and if that includes cleaning or cominual areas?

    If so it will be interesting when the cleaners next turn up and can't plug their Hoover in (if carpeted)
