Morning all. Mr Weatherman says we will have sunny intervals today; that would be nice but I suspect they will be far and few between and of the "blink and you'll miss it" variety.
We might even reach the dizzy heights of 5 c!
Yesterday morning I had a phone call from my SiL (DH's brother's wife); it was good to have a catch up chat but I was sorry to hear they're struggling with old age in general and various health problems. They're on the hospital/GP merry-go-round, sadly with no prospect of things improving.
On a cheerier note, the new lampshade is up - the pictorial installation instructions were clear enough but it was still a bit tricky; three hands would have been useful! Anyway, it's up and I'm pleased with it. I had a good old browse around the SM - it wasn't too busy - and got what was on my list plus some other bits that I can't get on deliveries. I also treated myself to some socks and knickers (needed) as they were on a 20% off offer. The wait for the bus back was only 10 minutes but, by golly, it was perishing and I was glad to get home.
Today I'll be returning a book that I just can't get into and will pop into the Co-op on the way. Then it's back to do the usual Friday admin stuff. I still haven't heard anything about my application for Pension Credit (11 weeks now) and the recycling bins didn't get emptied - again. Plus, overnight someone has dumped an armchair on the grassed area outside. Two more jobs to add to the To Do list. Grrr. Tea tonight is a fish fillet, maybe with mushy peas or just in a sandwich.
Happy new hearing aid, Gers.
Coxy - I bet you had a thought in your head about an alternative use for the shovel!
Take care, stay warm and safe, hugs where needed, get well soon wishes for the Poodles. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -

Hello all, it's another grey miserable day here but for a change we are due rain tomorrow. I've been watching 2 frisky squirrels romping about the garden this morning so maybe spring is finally on it's way.
Yesterday with help from Mr fix It, I did a lot of tidying and shifting of books from the spare bedroom into the office and I went through the tins/ packet overflow too. I found some OOD stuff so shame on me as I normally check through but obviously I've been a bit lax of late. Back to finishing it off today and there's some old paperwork to go through from Mr Fix It's late family but I think most of that will have to be shredded.
Mehefin I saw the fire on the Welsh news last night, I'm so happy no one was hurt.
dp1 please try to get some rest, it's been a rollercoaster of a ride for all of you, no wonder you're exhausted. Hugs.
Coxy explaining how to use a shovel ? I wish I'd been a fly on that wall to see all the raised eyebrows 🤣
Have a good day all. Take care.

Morning all! I've just had a McD breakfast because that's my valentines treat to me. Because for some reason, toast is ot going down well at the moment,m which is a bit of pain seeing as I've just made so much marmalade, but to be fair, I made it mostly for OHs stepdad who loves it, so I can drip feed him jars through the year. Did a big sort out of clothes yesterday, got a black bag and a half of rag [ a big space taking up amount was the old curtain in the back bedroom] , got one bag of clothes to sell, one bag that doesn't fit that I won't get rid of and everything fits into the wardrobe and drawers again. Today is sort out the bedding but the cat is asleep on the bed for the moment so that wil have to wait until later. Think I'm going to play with seeds today. I didn't get round to it earlier in the week and I don't fancy going out again until I have to later on [ helping OHs stepdad move something large] I have a coupe of tops to iron, and the table to set up in the kitchen with my sewing machines ot make some things for the cats to lie on, so that's my weekend mostly, making stuff. And I will be going to the allotment, I have parsnips to sow and some areas to sort out in advance of my massive hay bale coming MondayNanny, good to hear you sound perkier. Remmie, sounds perfectly reasonable ot me. I tried a slow cooker recipe before with chili, added pasta, then cheese on top, it was lovely. Yorkslass, perhaps threaten them with some soical media exposure, or bad publicity, you know the type, where they take a picture of you with a sad face pointing at the bins
Gers, it always amazes me how good you are with technology and not afraid to embrace it to make your life better. I can barely think of anything to ask Alexa except for what's the weather today....TA, hope it's nice trip
Coxy, bet that went well
I've seen a reel where a man expains to some women that a sledgehammer is not for knocking in nails and the things that folow that, with them phoning all the women they know to tell them that but it;s too late, they all have broken fingers
bella, I don't believe you, I think the sun has gone on vacation to another planet. SO, welcome to the marvellous world of What's In My Freezer, an episode we all know and love
Take care all, it's a cold un again, wrap up, poodles, hope you're looking after yourselves...

Morning everyone it’s dull and cold here and we are forcast snow showers it’s freezing when is this weather ever going to pick up. I’ve got eyebrows again I’m pleased I found this girl who does them she’s really good and a nice girl as well . DP1 I bet you are all worn out with the worry I just hope she can get into some routine soon . Gers I’m another one who marvels at you with technology I’m absolutely useless. I’ve emptied and cleaned out my small freezer in the garage I was determined to get these freezers down I will decide later when I will fill it again it might be for Xmas there’s only two of us I buy far to much im sure if the freezer in the house is full and a couple of cupboards are full we are not at risk of starving. Not a lot happening here just the usual housework and trying to keep warm . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Afternoon all,we have clear blue skies but it's blooming cold. I had a slow start to the day, pooch had a very unsettled night so I felt shattered, just taken it easy this morning. I have put a load of unwanted clothes into a CS bag to be collected on Monday so have easily reached my target of banishing 10 items a week@dp1 I really hope LO picks up soon.Mehefin, well done with your efforts with the fire,it could have been so much worse. We don't have to pick up DGS later, he's going to a school event ,half term here next week.Spanish chicken later, then we may call in at the local pub, DHs cousins hubby is appearing in a band there.Right thats all from me, keep warm ;0:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
