I'm back with coffee. Still dark, but it's dry whoo hoo, might get some washing dry outside. It's a wonder the airer hasn't taken root on the landing this winter, it's become a permanent fixture.
I'm going to a nearby shopping centre this morning for a birthday present, then straight home I think.
Hope everyone is ok, have a good day folks and take care.14 -
Good morning Scarlet, thanks for starting us.
I've been awake early doors today, no idea why, couldn't sleep and kept going over things I know I cannot change. So I've left the other two asleep and got up.
No plans for today, happy St Valentine's day to all who celebrate, and to those who have lost loved ones, I hope your memories make you smile. We don't do anything special, in fact DH always says he will go to the shops tomorrow and get the flowers and chocolates half price. I've got a true romantic there, or just a MSE'er!
Dinner tonight will be herby sausages wrapped in streaky bacon (giant pigs in blankets) with garlic mash and broccoli. Last night was steak and kidney pie for him and chilli for me. I didn't fancy rice so had it mixed with pasta with grated cheese on top. Worked really well. And I wonder why DH doesn't eat some of my concoctions!
Enough waffling from me, have a good day all, and hugs to all who need them.13 -
Morning all. Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.@Remmie - your comment about your OH brought a smile to my face. My late DM had a birthday on 09 March and she always insisted on not being given flowers until after Mothering Sunday. 😀
The visit to the audiologist was successful, after the hearing test he gave me the new upgraded aid which is much smaller and connects properly to my mobile. I'll now be able to, not only hear better but listen to my audiobook when doing things like travelling on the bus. Before this I had to choose between hearing or listening. And I visited some friends on the way home, and my fridge is now restocked too. Happy day.Today will be less exciting though I'm already enjoying the earlier morning light. @Snoozer - I wonder if your son and DIL managed the early morning shift with their children. @Mehefin - the photos of the school fire are horrific. Well done on offering and giving such help. ⭐️⭐️Take care all. Hugs to everyone.12 -
Definitely enjoying the mornings being a bit lighter, it’s a chilly one though.I finished up spending some time in the loft yesterday, managed to throw a few things, turf out some empty boxes and find a few things to try to sell. It needs several days really - I haven’t ventured to the back of the boxes for years!
Today must be van cleaning, the construction work locally is creating so much mess on roads - I think they are cleaning the road regularly but there’s a residue that just splashes and creates layer on layer of mud.Hope all the poorlies are better soon , and special wishes to DPs LO
take care

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another cold one but crikey we have sunny spells forecast! Tomorrow's forecast for hereabouts is still sounding grim unfortunately.
Change of plan yesterday. What's new. I decided I cba getting ready to trip out so brought forward the Friday Tidy and plan a trip out today instead. I have been like a recluse this week.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, keep warm and safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"13 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
We don’t do Valentines nowadays - I loathe the commercialisation of it all. We will, however, be having lunch out with DSis and BIL today as our diaries aligned. First though we have our car being MOT’d.
We lifted and shifted three beds worth of well-rotted manure at the community kitchen garden yesterday. At one point DH started to mansplain how to use a shovel….. you can imagine how that went down….
L and B are very fortunate to have you and Steve helping them @snoozer. Any news on their move - did they decide on a location yet?Cross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 09/25 Currently reading The Vows of Silence by Susan Hill13 -

Hope you all have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe and warm xxSlava Ukraini13 -
Morning everyone
Just a quickie as I have to go down to mam and dads this morning to sort out a banking problem. Well not a problem really, just the bank stopping a payment going through until they speak to an account holder. I tried to pay the man who built their new fence...at least we know the bank is going to stop hem being scammed.
I've some washing to put out as apparently the sun is going to come out later!
Then work at lunchtime...I'm tired this week, probably because I'm worrying about DD and little one, so I'll be pleased when 3 o'clock comes around.
Hope everyone has a good day today x13 -
Morning all.
It's a bit brighter here this morning and we have a friend coming to stay for the weekend. We're all going to a mutual friend's party tomorrow night. Just need to sort out a few bits at home and get a pudding for tonight then I'm done. Have booked us Sunday lunch at the local pub/hotel before she drives home so probably no need to cook over the weekendI do get a bit fed up with always having to think of something to eat so it's nice to have a break.
Have a good weekend everyone.12 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Well done @mehefin
Still so cold.
Did a bit of a freezer tidy, how did I get so much food in there?
Take care
