How long to receive a copy of house deeds

As the title says how long have people been waiting to get a copy of your deeds ?

Mum passed away last year, house in her name but not sure where the deeds are so thinking I'll need to get a replacement copy.

Thanks

Is the property registered with the Land Registry?  If not, you've got a physical search on your hands.

    Hi,

If the property is registered then there are no deeds - the Land Registry's computers are definitive and you can go online and get a copy of what they hold for £7 (make sure you use the real .gov.uk website).

If the property is not registered then there is nowhere to get a copy from - you will need to find the original deeds.

Yes, if it's registered the solicitors sort it out.

Solicitor either gets official copy of register from the land registry or if unregistered, asks you for the deeds.  once a property is registered,  deeds are still very useful and should be kept safe if only to refer to for historic or sentimental reasons.
