Put a message onto your journal and tell them. Your claim should be updated within a couple of weeks or so. Once it’s done you will be asked to agree to your claimant commitments, which will be to agree to report all changes.

It now should be automatic (was when I helped a friend last week). You will be able to tell if asked to agree to your claimant commitment (just a very basic comments) if unsure do as poppy12345 suggested.

From advising people elsewhere over the last few weeks, it is still hit and miss as to whether they pick up on the ESA automatically.
One person had the tick box question on their application, but were later asked for a Fit Note!
I still advise people to do the Journal note.

I agree that being automatic isn’t always the case with some people.

With that person what did their claimant commitment state?

I've no idea they didn't say. All I know is they applied for UC, ticked the box to say they claimed ESA then a week later a Fit Note request was put onto their Journal. I advised them to ignore it because their ESA status probably hadn't been confirmed and they didn't need to supply one.
