I agree.
The trouble is when going to an advice centre you normally deal with one person, so it they do give wrong info a claimant might never know until the S*** hits the fan. Are there people out there not declaring capital they should be due to wrong advice.
The great thing about this forum, if we do make mistakes, it's corrected by other members.

In their defence they were looking for a law rule that i could take to DWP, to tell them they were wrong in their advice. from one of their agents. I then explained to dwp that  COL payments should not be in the savings. ( thanks to this forum). But anyone who are looking on gov websites they do not say COL payments are disregarded. They have helped a lot in the past for me.
