Mornign all! Yesterday ran away with me. Fetched my prescription, fetched something from an in post locker, went to the GC to get compost and anew piece of glass for the greenhouse, went to HB for sugar [ had a sugar disaster, dropped the glass jar I'd just filled with 2.5kg of sugar and it smashed all over the floor] , found some cheapie gooseberry bushes twigs for 1.99, came home, emptied the car, potted on the snowdrops and the gooseberries and potted up the jade plant and a bit off the jade plant, put the glass in and it was time for a rest
Today is ROD day, clothes sorting as a priority...Did four loads of washing too yesterday, the last of the non tumble drier bits are still on the hose and over the fire. It's not looking likely to go more than 2 degrees today so fire on as a matter of urgency. Ohs mums for tea tonight.
camelot, ouch, good luck..Gers, phew for it being not serious, itching sounds annoying though but I did have a smile at the controtions involved in putting cream on...remmie, bargain on the bacon! TA, I did have a laugh at 'there's room in the freezer' !! mehefin, what a shock! well done for provising a bit of shelter for them, fingers crossed it can be qwiftly repaired although maybe the pupils don't think that. Well done to them for forward planning to avoid serious injuries...Izzy, I liked your at speed London visits..I'll only go for something special, really don't like not being able to see any sky without buildings in it. Bella, hope you feel better today. Coxy, what are you sowing? I'm going parsnips tomorrow I think..snoozer, devious and naughty but they might as well have a taste of it now rather than later and find some strategies..:) Take care all, it's a cold un today but that's better than a wrong un...:)Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
Morning allJust sitting down for a coffee after some housework. Actually got out in the garden yesterday and did a bit of trimming. It was cold but calm with no wind. Nothing else planned for today. Will wait till the weather gets warmer but I'm planning a trip to London to go to the Victoria and Albert Museum. I think it's the only London Museum that I've never been to. I've also got the Tower of London and Tower Bridge on my list for the future too. It must have been 50 years or so since I went there. I used to pass Tower Bridge every day on the way to work in the 70s.Well done Mehefin, glad you managed to help a situation that must have been very scary.Hugs to all xx7

Morning all. It's another chilly and grey day but it's not raining - something to be thankful for!
Yesterday was a pottering day, normal housework done and precious little else. Today though I'm going out to collect the new lampshade and will pop into the SM for milk, a wholemeal loaf and some fresh F&V. Not very exciting I know but, as we have sleet forecast for the weekend, at least I'll be prepared.Tea tonight is a bit of a mishmash of cooked gammon slices from the freezer plus fridge bits and pieces that need using up.
bellabella - I hope you're feeling a bit better today.
mehefin - Thank goodness there were no casualties; well done on the community support and a plan that works.
Gers - Good luck with applying the cream, you'll need to be a bit of a contortionist!
Ruby - That's definitely a bargain price for the whirlygig - brownie points for your OH!
Enjoy your day, take care and wrap up warm. Have a virtual hug if you need or want one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all been shopping and put it away didn't get much this week but the bill seemed to be the same as normal hey ho.
Will get on and do one of the big beds after my cuppa then may pop out to BnM as need to get bits for DD2's house move next week i have most things but its military housing so expect a white glove inspection when she leaves they are getting a bigger house on the same estate so not far to go thank goodness DH and I have booked a room for a couple of nights just to save the travelling
Weather here is looking unpromising for the weekend as usual so not sure what to plan to do i need to empty a chest of drawers in my room to take to DD2's but other than that it is big stuff that needs doing
Right have a good day one and all stay warm and dry whatever you are up to xSlava Ukraini9 -
Morning all, I'm back today with 2 working hands but I'm trying to keep off the computer so much in the hope that will help (?)
This morning we went to town and did some banking as Dad's decided to pay me by cheque for his shopping. We stopped for a coffee and I had a call from the surgery for me to go back to see the GP, it's not till March 5th so obviously not something urgent, I hope 🤞. We didn't stay long in town as it's a wind tunnel at the best of times and today it's cold and grey again with a biting wind. We were also going to have a look in the new Lidl but the car park was rammed so we'll wait until it's quietened down. It's now about 4 times the size of the old one and opposite Morries whose car park was relatively empty.
I have just hard boiled 2 eggs that were coming up to date so I'm having egg sandwiches for lunch, Mr Fix It will have just to put a peg on his nose as he hates the smell of boiled eggs ! The dw is on so that'll need emptying shortly then I have a choice of things that need doing but which do I tackle first ? 🤔
Tea tonight will be something from the freezer, they are rammed full so there's plenty of choice.
Ruby well done on that bargain.
Bella nice to see you back again.
taff I see you are still running at a mile a second 😁 Shame about the sugar jar especially as you had just filled it.
Gers good luck with the cream and your appointment today.
Camelot good luck with the appointment and enjoy your break.
Have a good day all, hugs to the poorly or worried ones.
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -

Hi all from a dull and bitterly cold Mehefinland
School is shut for the for the rest of this week and possibly next too. Then it's half term so it will give them chance to assess what the damage is and the way forward. Received 2 calls today thanking me for our actions yesterday, 1 from our peripatetic librarian who had been concerned at my wattsapp message yesterday ( i didn't have any glasses with me so it came out rather garbled) Put her straight , but she had seen it plastered all over the news and local social media. The second call was from the Council's director in charge of libraries and was equally complimentary. As I said all along, it is what communities do. There may be a requirement to use the library for a while for the free school meal children and I was sounded out about availability. Of course it was a Yes if we can. Will wait to see what transpires from that. All in all a very positive response to our community library and a few brownie points to boot.
Nothing else much happening - just trying to get(and stay) warm.
Hugs and spoons as always- Keep the poodles in and wrapped up.

Just a quickie from me to say well done to Mehefin - you deserve your brownie points....it certainly was a dramatic school day for the children. I hope the repairs don't take too long.
Little one managed an hour and a half at school yesterday morning , then the same today...unfortunately she had been absolutely exhausted when she came home at lunchtime and then had diarrhoea, so she won't be there tomorrow. I just wish life could get back to 'normal' for both her and DD.
I'm off for a nice soak in the bath x7 -
Well done Mehefin lucky for the school you were so proactive .
A quick brief one today ,did some housework this morning then went to my wine group ,Hic ! Nothing will be done this evening !7
