eBay charity listings

I have created charity listings on eBay for a few years as a private seller. If a buyer bought something for £4.30, eBay waived the fess and all of the money went directly to charity.
Now if a buyer pays £4.30 for a charity item, the charity only gets £3.45, the other 85p goes to eBay as a buyer protection fee.
I'm not complaining about fees per se, I think that they are reasonable, but I'm disappointed that eBay are now taking a cut when people buy charity items.
There is now no benefit in listing charity items on ebay, I may as well list them as a normal sale and donate the net receipt myself.

Or just drop them into a charity shop?
  • I buy good DVDs in charity shops and then typically generate 10 to 20 times more money for charity by selling them on ebay.  I rely on other people donating DVDs to charity shops.
