TV tuning and stuff

So unwillingly and because of a health problem I had to pay a fortune for a guy to get in the loft and connect an aerial to my bedroom so I can have a TV there for the days when I have to remain laying flat.
He also tuned the basic old flat screen telly so it was up and ready to go.

Now I hate having a TV in the bedroom and the room is small.
If I pull the plug and aerial out and stow the TV in the wardrobe untill needed will it remain tuned when I next plug it in?

It's not easy, especially with a retune as I'm on Exmoor and it keeps linking with Welsh TV, you have to select the Mendip transmitter.
Also if I'm stuck indoors hurt I don't want to fiddle with all this.

So, will it remained tuned -
or should I make a cover and have it hovering in front of me like a lump on normal waking and sleeping days?

Advice welcome as it's driving me nuts.

I thought this was the board rather than TV...........because it's more about a gadget but correct me if I'm wrong.

It really depends on the TV and how long you intend to leave it disconnected. Most of them will retain the tuning settings for a period of time, think about going on holiday for a couple of weeks and leaving it switched off at the mains, you'd reasonably expect it to not need re-tuning after that. The way to be sure is to try it.

    Thanks Droopsnoot.
Yup I know but I hate tuning the darn things in. Used to have it all sorted when we had the change over and it's an old cheap one so not the easiest because it's not clear options.

That's why I was thinking of getting a Chromebook./tiny laptop but heating/fence/health probs made bigger priorities.

It should be fine and keep the channels tuned. I gave someone a TV I'd had stored for a year and when they plugged it in it just worked, apart from needing a retune for the few channels Freeview had seen fit to move in that time..🙄😁

I have a TV in a caravan and leave it unplugged from end of November to Beginning of March every year, and never had a problem with the tuning.

Modern digital TVs don't need tuning. During set-up they just compile a list of available channels and store it in flash memory.

Oh that's cheered up my morning  :)
Thank you for the reassuarance.......so much gone pear shaped since Christmas I don't know where to start. Now I can check this off the list.

Yes, my main one stores channels and does sometimes need retuning if they move but often I don't bother. TV progs so awful they don't need extra. But you'll watch anything on some occasions.

It can go in it's box in the wardrobe. I can crawl around and put it up well enough before I collapse on the bed :D
