refund not shown

hi all i ordered from adidas and paid on my amex card, part of the order was cancelled (sick of waiting) and im still waiting for my refund
ive pm on fb to adidas and said the refund has already been processed which is still not showing on my amex acc, where do i stand ?

Did they take the full amount in the 1st place?

Ask adidas for the ARN acquirer reference number & pass that to Amex to find on the system. 
Could also be that it has been passed to team @ adidas to process the payment & not done yet?

thanks a million everyone for the replies
forget what ive wrote, whats happened is i ordered 2 items 22.50 & 65 and paid with a £25 gift card and £65 on card
the 22.50 item arrive but the 65 item was cancelled and i cant find any transaction in jan or current statements and nothing pending so i take it the giftcard has paid for the £22.50 item
