Morning all, thanks Gers. I realised I haven't been on since Monday so been catching up, not that I can remember much! My hairdresser came & was shocked at how long it had got. I quite like it longer so just had a trim.He hasn't been since DH had his hip op so they had a catch up too! Yesterday morning I went to the main library in town, then walked through to get my bus. 4 young lads on bikes went speeding round onto the pedestrian square, I heard one of them shout 'feds' as a police car came past. When I got to the shopping centre I could hear a lot of shouting- 2 security staff and 2 from a securicor van were there at the door so I don't know what they'd been up to. They weren't very old and had their faces obscured, but I think perhaps you're right @Camelot and covid did affect them. I've heard similar tales.DH went for a quick check up yesterday as he felt his progress had stalled, but after an x-ray everything seems fine but the consultant has said more physio needed. Our fridge seems bare, luckily an order is coming at lunchtime. We had some pork medallions last night, pan fried with a made up sauceRight better go and do something -take care everyone.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
I went over to my friend across the road yesterday after work...had a good chat and cake. Then I did some more research on Marrakesh - I don't go until the Easter holidays Camelot. I'm going to London for a couple of days at half term, we still have another week of school here.
Little one is going to school just for an hour and a half this morning, I hope she manages ok. She was off her feeding pump yesterday and her sugars had stayed quite steady, so fingers crossed. Until she starts eating again, she has to have her liquid feed/ medication every 3 hours and her pump feed all night. Staff at school are trained to do the every 3 hours feed and her blood sugar checks when her alarm goes off. She's certainly a complicated child to have in school!
So I'll go down to mam and dads this morning, their new fence was finished yesterday so we'll pay for that. Then I'm stewarding again later, for a broadcast of Macbeth with David Tennant, which I'm really looking forward to.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all. No change in the weather, still dank and miserable with cold nights. Oh for some sunshine!
The bedroom blitz continued yesterday and is now finished. The mirrors are sparkling and the dingly-dangly lampshade cleaned. It's given me a lot of pleasure over the years and is very pretty but I'm giving it its marching orders and it will be on its way to the CS soon. I've ordered a simpler and more modern replacement that's to be collected either tomorrow or Friday, weather dependent. I cancelled my annual SM delivery pass before it auto-renewed today. I'll still have deliveries as and when needed but will use the £1 saver slots instead. If it doesn't work out I can always order a new pass.
There's nothing in particular planned for today, just the usual housework - what an exciting life! Tea tonight will be a h/m salmon fishcake in a bap with side salad, followed by a piece of sponge cake and custard.
Nanny- So sorry to hear you're still not feeling well, I hope the blood test throws up some answers. And oh dear to the sausage roll mountain.
Coxy - Hope the drain liner gets done today. I doubt my water ingress problem is going to be a quick fix - the different trades people all seem hell bent on kicking the can down the road - but I shall persist!
Ruby - I do hope you can still see Rob in the future. As you say, it's all about the cost.
Gers - Your September trip over the border will be something to look forward to.
dp1 - Fingers crossed for LO today.
Mehefin - The benches and planters for the library will look lovely once they're planted up. Just don't go upsetting the coven!
Have a good day and take care. Help yourself to a hug if you need one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -

Morning everyone just got in from a cleaning job and having a cuppa not a lot I can do as our energy company is giving us free electricity for an hour between 3 and 4 so I have the washer loaded up ready and a small ham joint in the oven I will slice and use up over the next couple of days a shepherd’s pie we will be having tonight and a quiche I will stick some odds and sods in that we will eat at lunch time may as well make the most of it and while all that is getting along I am going to Hoover through the house and that’s the excitement for today hubby will be at the vet with the little dog for the second part of her booster apparently it’s done in two lots now it’s supposed to be better they mean better for them to extract a bit more money out of us so he will miss all the fun I will probably blow a fuse everything on together.Gers that’s something to look forward to I’ve only been to London a few times one of my sons lives there and when we have gone down to see him we are raced around at speed to try and fit as much as we can into the time we come home shattered of course when he comes back here it takes an age for him to slow down I once gave him a poster he took it into work and they thought it was hilarious it was for the hay bale competition I dread to think what he tells them about us he said nobody could believe that we didn’t have buses on a night and sundays they probably think we are the Beverly hillbillies. Talking about young boys my friends son was 13 at the weekend and he had asked for a couple of friends to come and watch the football and play on the games and have something to eat said it was to babyish to call it a party she ended up sending them home they threw cushions about spit food all over and tipped a bottle of aftershave down the toilet just generally acted like idiots and it was the one that had the very posh parents that was the instigator isn’t it always I know what my mother would have done with them but you probably would get arrested now I have to stand on the chair to thump my lot now and they always say was that a fly landed on me but I can still sort them out . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Well its been an exciting afternoon. The local primary school caught fire as the contractors were doing something on the roof. Two classrooms completely destroyed plus who knows what. School was evacuated with no casualties and parents asked to collect. There was a few left stood out in the cold, so we opened up the library It's about 400 yds away) and whacked the heating up whilst I went to find the head to offer our assistance. Greeted with open arms and within 10 minutes or so 11 kids and about 13 staff turned up , all looking very cold, as they had been stood outside in the bitter cold for the last hour. The Fire brigade wouldn't let them in to get coats etc as it was too risky so they were literally stood up in what they had on in class. Anyway, hot drinks were provided ( and the use of a loo) and they were all a lot happier. The numbers dwindled reasonably quickly as the kids were collected and it was all done and dusted at the library by 1500. Not quite so lucky at school though! It's shut for the rest of the week while they assess damage before deciding what to do. The head told me later that they were so glad they had a robust procedure in place, and more importantly that it worked!
Lots of pictures etc on the local news and even BBC Wales website. Sort of fame we could do without lol
Hugs and spoons as always
