Oscillating Multi Tool recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good multi tool for under £80?

It's for DIY use mainly so not too bothered about being cordless but do want to get the best for the money. I did consider the Worx WX696 as I already have a load of the 20v Worx batteries for other tools but didn't really like the fact that it doesn't have tool free blade changes.

My old corded Worx does have it, but I wouldn't say that it's much different from WX696 in this respect. Have you watched a video?

  • Personally, I actively prefer corded tools for occasional DIY use. They're cheaper, there's no need to worry about keeping batteries in good condition and charged ready for use at some unknown future time, and you're not tied into a particular manufacturer's battery system.

I have a Bosch PMF 220 CE which has been reliable, and being Bosch you can be confident you'll always get compatible blades. It still doesn't have tool-free blade changes though.

Unfortunately the F50 is the more "pro" version of the range and has all the features such as quick change blades etc, it's also over double the price of the WX696.

I saw this Erbauer corded one on Screwfix that looks OK. Any thoughts on this one - https://www.screwfix.com/p/erbauer-emt300-qc-300w-electric-multi-tool-kit-230-240v/804pp
  • What is " Tool-free blade change " ? ,I have never owned a multi tool but have seen one used by a relative.

It's just a quick change mechanism to allow blades or attachments to be changed rather than having to manually unscrew a fixing bolt, often with a separate tool or spanner.

My point was that this sort of 'quick change' isn't much different from your WX696 that I saw in some other video.

I bought a titan one from Screwfix for £40 last year.  Seems fine.
