Uc requesting filled out A64A form

I've recently changed my uc claim to include my partner. Unfortunately I own a property with a previous partner that I am estranged from. I pay no mortgage and receive no income from it. My original uc claim stated this, but with creating joint claim it's thrown me back to the start declaring any property I own etc and they've sent their requirements for appointment. One being 3 months bank statements and second one being a completed A64A form. I googled this and it says something about a parental order. I can't wrap my head around it, they've said it's to do with the property I own and to just fill it in and bring it in, but I cannot lie it's making me nervous to complete a form of which allows people to access documentation of which I've no idea of. Can someone shed clarity on this please as I'm confused.

Sounds like when you made the original claim, UC did not pick up on your disclosure that you part owned a second property. Had they noted the second property at the beginning you would have been asked to complete the A64A form and then a decision maker would have noted a decision in your journal. So they are needing to complete the process now to see if any equity you have in the second property can be ignored and if so for how long. This is important as the decision will inform you about ongoing entitlement to UC while you own the second property. Normally if you have money savings and investments in excess of £16000 you would not be entitled to UCThe comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0
