Missold IVA

I finished an IVA just over a year ago, this January I had an email from Missoldiva.org saying I may be able to claim back some overcharged, it then said I'd receive a document from a big law firm 'Taylor Rose' with a document I'd need to sign...i haven't received anything, so I rang Taylor Rose and they said they deal with these claims directly themselves, not using outside sources...so, has anyone else had this, was it just a scam for my details?
Thanks in advance

A good number of IVAs are 'missold'. Whether you should get involved with another organisation to try to get compensation is an interesting one.

They are at least open about what they do

Engaging the services of any claims company can leave you liable for their fee`s even if they don`t recover anything for you, most of the time these things are scams, its hard to know who to trust.

Bottom line is if you feel the IVA was mis-sold, then make a complaint yourself, for free, just by writing a letter.

If your not certain you know why it may have been mis-sold, walk away, as getting involved in legal disputes without knowing the reasons why can leave you open to all kinds of grief.

  • Thank you for the replies, I has an email from Missoldiva.org.uk saying I may be able to make a claim...all i had to do was fill in a 'test' on their site....I didn't know there was such a thing. They came back to me and said they were now in a position to pass my details on to Taylor Rose who would then make the claim for me.  I was to await an email direct from Taylor Rose to digitally sign...that was mid January and to this date nothing has arrived. I rang Taylor Rose directly and they did tell me that they deal with claims directly and don't use people like 'missoldiva.org.uk' to search for them!
I told missoldiva that I rang Taylor Rose to see if they'd sent me the form and the guy was really rude to me! The email was quite upsetting!

Don`t engage with such companies in future, don`t phone them, don`t engage at all.
