Wizz Air Cancelled Flights - No rerouting??

My flights for 19 people from PMI-LTN in June have been cancelled by Wizz Air. The call centre this morning said that they cannot reroute the flights (new flights with a different airline), it's only a refund and then a subsequent claim back, is that correct?

Articles 5 and 8 of the regulations are clear that when cancelling a flight, the airline is obliged to offer passengers the choice between a refund or rerouting, which they are theoretically required to arrange. Does your reference to a claim back mean that they're accepting that they'll reimburse the incremental cost of replacement flights that you arrange yourself?1

This has happened to me too. Had flights canceled from Naples on 19th April. They refused to re route, even though they had flights available from Rome. The cost difference was £35 each more at the time and then said we would have to cancel, then rebook. The flights were £150 when we booked later that day. Plus extra costs for hotel, transport.
They said 72 hours for refund. 96 hours no refund and just been told another 48 hours. They said I would have to send in a complaint.0 -
Yes, sorry - they said i would have to get a refund, book new flights myself and put a claim in for the difference. I have booked new flights (for 19 people), fortunately,it was 120 EUR in totality more expensive, so not crippling but that will be the basis of my claim. I requested the recording from the call, still waiting on that claim, and although I got my refund in Wizz credits, I asked for this to be refunded to my credit card on the 11th, but still nothing has been received. The kicker is that I need to do a power of attorney form and get all 19 to sign to claim back the 120 EUR, that's if they even pay out for iteskbanker said:Articles 5 and 8 of the regulations are clear that when cancelling a flight, the airline is obliged to offer passengers the choice between a refund or rerouting, which they are theoretically required to arrange.
