If I'm understanding that correctly I will be in the first tranche (retired 2021 age 52 only in receipt of Classic pension) IF all the schemes are adopting the same approach to prioritisation.
You sound like a Deferred Choice Underpin member, as you have only taken pre-2015 benefits and no Remedy period benefits (I assume you were moved to alpha in 2015 and your alpha benefits are currently deferred).

    That's correct.
Although I'm now old enough to claim the Alpha element, I originally thought I wouldn't bother as I was expecting the RSS to be issued by Apr 25 so it didn't seem worth complicating things as it's likely that I'll choose to stay in Classic.
However if the RSS isn't going to turn up for another 3mths/6mths/2yrs I will probably start claiming Alpha now.
You probably know, but for the benefit of others, if you do claim, your claim will trigger your Deferred Choice Underpin and you will be given your Remedy options. If you choose the legacy option to stay in classic then you will receive arrears of underpaid classic benefits and your monthly pension payment will be increased.

No, I didn't realise that claiming Alpha would result in being given the Remedy options, thank you! I'll get on to that tomorrow.

I asked MyCSP last year how to claim Alpha and the email response attached a form but only talked about Alpha.

I replied as above stating that I was liable to stick with Classic so couldn't we keep things simple by sending out my options now rather than put Alpha into payment then have to rejig everything.

In response I got a stock reply about the timeline  "We currently anticipate distribution of options packs to begin in April/May 2024 at the earliest, and to continue up to 31 March 2025, by which time all retired members will have received a ‘Remediable Service Statement’

Thanks again for your help @hugheskevi I'm an infrequent poster but longer time lurker here and have seen you provide a great deal of help to many, many people on this and associated subjects.

So much for the 1st July 2025 deadline. Despite being in the first cohort, no RSS letter or indeed an update to the website. Now over 6 years (Dec 2018) since the McCloud ruling.

Have any forumites actually received their RSS letter from NHS pensions?
