Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
We emptied DD’s bedroom yesterday, took up the carpet and underlay and took it to the tip. Today we will steam off the chintzy border and fill holes/cracks. DH also has a testing kit for the popcorn ceiling which he’ll send off. We are off to the tip again first though with garden rubbish and cardboard.Dinner tonight is chicken, potato and kale bake.Hope a good place can be found for Rob @RedRuby1231 🤞🏻
Good to see you back @bellabella and congrats on the new grandchildren news x
Loving the sound of the benches and planters @mehefin - coven 🤣
Have a good day everyone

@Coxy11 The 'coven' would be mortified lol They are a funny lot - more a knit and natter group. I am mindfull of the pictures of the women by the guillotine on occasions. We have two quite different groups of ladies in our craft clubs - the Monday afternooners , and the Wednesday evening lot - some go to both and it can get quite confusing. I don't think any man would venture in though
Quite a few are also volunteers in the library - so I try not to upset them too much! Need a stirring up now and again.
We just got funding to become a 'warm space' too, so that is all up and running. Some resistance initially from a few but the majority are happy to help out. It self runs really, all they need do is boil a kettle an fill a big flask. The attendees do the rest on a self help basis. It runs until the end of March I think.

Another grey ,damp and miserable day ,
was up early (for me) to go to the chiropodist for 9 ,one of my few indulgences now .
Had managed to run out of milk ,went to get the emergency longlife and there was none ,must’ve used it and not replaced.
stopped at shop on way home and now had tea .
Out to quiz this afternoon ,first some housework and tidying
Stay warm all
Derek I know exactly what you mean by knit n natter coven .Always puts me in mind of the guillotine too !8 -
Morning all up reasonably early and have been pottering but achieved very little as usual weather is again on the grey side which never makes me feel productive . I will be doing the usual daily tidy up and the WM is whirring away so will chuck that on the heated airer later . Dinner tonight sausage n mash with onion gravy .
Have a good day one and all stay safe and warm xxxSlava Ukraini8 -
Morning all. It's yet another miserable and grey day - roll on Spring.
Yesterday I spent the best part of the day giving my bedroom a thorough blitz, including cleaning behind furniture - lots of cobwebs and dust bunnies evicted. It's a good start on the ritual Spring cleaning but I now have the bedding to wash. There's no chance of it being hung out so it will have to go in the TD and then on the airer to finish off. I downed tools late afternoon and left a large mirror and the lampshade to clean today. It's a glass dingly-dangly affair that will keep me out of mischief for a good while.
Early doors this morning I had a visit from a council plumber about the water ingress to the kitchen and bathroom. He doesn't think it's a plumbing leak anywhere so the next step is to have the flat roof inspected. It's so frustrating as we've been down this road before - without success - and it all feels weirdly deja vu. Not a good start to the day.
Tea today will be the strips of bacon I took off the pigs in blankets with an egg and spicy wedges, afters can be grated apple and yogurt.
Take care all and keep warm. Hugs if wanted or needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Hello all, sorry to have been missing but I have been struggling with my health again as I have had 2 swollen and painful hands, added to everything else I hit rock bottom and couldn't be bothered to do anything except watch tv. I am back now with just using my left hand but getting dressed is still a challenge, putting my socks on is like playing a game of Twister 🤣
Yesterday I had a blood test so hopefully something will flag up, then later we had a sm shop which was a bit comical as Mr Fix It did the ordering and we ended up with 5x10 pack of sausage rolls instead of 5 individual ones and 3x3 pack of pasties instead of 1 pack ! Guess what we'll be eating for the foreseeable future, thank goodness for the invention of home freezers !
Today we have delivered Dad's shopping but Mr Fix It stayed in the car after depositing the bags into his conservatory for me to sort out as he has man flu a cold and didn't want to give it to Dad.
Hope everyone is well, hugs available if needed.
Take care all

Hi
Sorry I am so late getting on. Work was busy and the day went in fast. Then at lunch time I was chatting with a colleague. I'll confess I have not read through today, so a big wave to you all and I hope your Tuesday went as planned. I am tucking in to pork and parprika stew I froze the other week.
Night and sleep well, nearly bed time
