Hi all
Thanks for starting us off Scarlet
Another day out at work today and at some point I need to do some serious craft work too. Battling huge ‘to do’ list at the moment, all self inflicted! For those that asked about the ‘smell training’…….from what I can glean, you smell strong but pleasant smells eg mint, citrus, spices regularly to gauge the intensity of the fragrance, the strong smells are supposed to stimulate your olfactory nerve. Anyone who is still interested 😂 Google ‘fifth sense’ - they’re a charity.Take care all

Morning again, it's raining here, just for a change!
Smell training sounds interesting Allie, at least it's nice smells. I need to get back into crafting and sewing, it's something I enjoy but I never seem able to get down to it these days. I need to get a grip and focus on it.
Nice to see you back Bella, keep posting!
Yesterday I visited an elderly friend then came back and pottered round the house, today may be the same. We'll go to the quiz as usual this evening.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.14 -
Morning all
Feels very cold here again this morning heating and blanket over the knees kind of day. Three people coming today and we are off to a local community cafe to play games we will have some lunch there too the food is really good and reasonably priced we spend a few hours there and play some games while there.
The house I took Rob to yesterday was the best yet really nice staff and he would have a good size bedroom they made him lunch which he ate some off but I think he was too anxious to eat too much bless him, I have reported back to the SW so now we wait again.
Dinner tonight is the soup I made at the weekend with toasted cheese and ham sandwiches the soup just needs heating through and sandwiches making so won’t take too long.
No washing to do today but I will have a tidy through before my people come.
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Good morning
Dull and damp again..... but not too cold.
Yesterday was a win as I sorted out my car Insurance. Did a comparison then rang my current insurer who agreed to honour the best quote I found. Win win. As Martin says "never auto renew".
Now back to earth, laundry to do today. Tonight will something with some braising steak I've got out of the freezer. I fancy a stew but I know it's not one of DH's favourites, so may cheat and do a casserole, haha. Served with garlic bread, a stew by any other name.
Ruby, if Rob gets a place in respite will you still see him?
Have a good day all and hugs to all who need them.12 -
Morning all - dank and grey here. Oh, and cold too.Yesterday the M&S short length trousers arrived, and they fit perfectly. Meanwhile I'm going to have to tape up the bottoms of the regular ones. Another one of life's little annoyances. This morning I'm off to the GP for one of their annual health checks. I don't need any shopping so won't be out long though I will whizz past the CS to see if it's open as I've a couple of things in the car ready to hand over. It's lovely to see @Bella again
Hugs to all our poorlies.

Morning all. Dull and damp here again.
Yesterday's walk was just right; not too long and not muddy at all! We were just starting to get cold so glad to get into the pub for a nice lunch. After that I didn't do much for the rest of the day and mainly sat on the sofa
Today I'm off for my shingles jab and then to get some food shopping. We'll have salmon and roasted veg tonight, as that's quick and easy, then tomorrow I think I'll make some chicken and veg soup.
Hope everyone wraps up warm and stays well.13 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Last night it felt colder than ever and a gale force wind got up from nowhere. This morning it's dropped and we are back to the usual drab and miserable start and not set to improve.
I should have been meeting DF for lunch but she has just texted to say she isn't feeling too good so wants to give it a miss. This is a regular occurrence, she seems to get struck down with the least thing. With the weather as it is I'm not too bothered about being housebound. There is washing to catch up on which will festoon the back bedroom to dry with the dehumidifier helping it along. True to my word the freezer in the garage got a good tidy yesterday with stuff back in its right place (for now!!) It confirmed that the stockpile is really going down and there is breathing space! One or two bits that I had shoved in thinking it might come in hasn't come in and probably never will so that hit the bin. Now lunch is off I need to get something out for dinner and leave it tidy!
RUBY, like remmie, I too was wondering whether you would still see Rob if he goes in respite care, or is it just until his mum is fit enough to cope with him - if she ever is. Poor Rob.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Dp1 I hope LO is keeping well. Such a worry for you all. Take care everybody stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning everyone
I think we've all got the same weather - grey and drizzly here too.
After work yesterday I had someone here to look at my garden, hopefully to build a summerhouse to replace my shed. He's going to give me a couple of prices. It's often so windy up on top of this hill, that I can't sit outside in the summer - I'm hoping he doesn't come back with a price way over my budget.
Little one had been off her feed for a while yesterday and her sugars had remained steady, DD is hoping to speak to her doctor at the hospital today. I'm hoping she might get to school next week, even just for a couple of hours - they're ready for some time apart now! She's only been to school for 8 days this half term.
I have a couple of jobs I need to get done before work. I also need to figure out a way to stop a cat, or cats, pooing on my grass in the back garden. I was blaming my littlest cat but there were two piles this morning and she'd been in overnight so it wasn't her! Has anyone any ideas?
Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Good morning from a dull and rather cold Mehefinland.
Spent a fair chunk of yesterday at my community library waiting for a delivery of benches and planters. They are recycled plastic and were bought from monies of the local Co-op community fund, which we were one of the beneficiaries of last year. Apparently each one is made of about 60000 bottle tops ( how they work that I have no idea!!) .The chap delivering them turned up just at school run time, so it was a little fraught for a while but he did a stirling job and managed to get them more or less where we wanted them. They are extremely heavy! It took two us to move the planters, and three for the benches. The 'coven' ie craft club were in residence at the time and when they came out from their session were very complimentary. It will be a talking point for a while. Next job is to level them up and start filling the planters. Come the spring/summer it should look really nice - I hesitated to put 'nice' but struggled to find another suitable word lol. Spent the rest of the time scaping moss off the tarmac and general tidying up but by gum it was cold. Think last night was lost in the thawing out!
Hugs and spoons as always, keep those poodles warm

Morning all! Tip run day and make second lot of marmalade. I didn't count the right amount of sugar and didn't fancy going out to buy some so I'll get it on the way back from the tip. 9 jars of normal made yesterday, today it'll have ginger and rum added. Or brandy, depends what I have more of
Once the house is empty of stuff it's two or three loads of washing followed by the good stuff of going through my seeds and playing what am I going to sow first..
I've got brain blank but someones friend was found on the floor, how is she doing? Bella, lovely to see you again!Nanny, how's your friend doing? and you? Ruby, that's more encouraging news for Rob. Allie, at least it's nice smells. we used ot have to have a smell test when we had new masks in work to see if they fit properly, I always chose the stinky one because the sweet one was disgusting...mehefin, sounds lovely, well done you and them too...have fun picking plants! Take care all, wrap up, it feels super nippy today, poodles, take care too...
