Re-applying for 0% card?

Hi everyone
We are new to this credit-card balance transferring, and are just after a bit of practical advice: when your 9 months of interest free credit runs out, and you have transferred the balance (from another card, or paid it off) do you then cancel the card immediately? If so, can you apply for the same card, and qualify for the 0% after a certain time?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes cancel it and yes you can re-apply. Typically they will consider you a new customer after 6 - 12 months, and there are enough cards out there that you should not have to return before then.
But as with every rule there are exceptions...
* Egg offer a repeat 0% deal for 5 months on each anniversary, so keep it.
* Keep one "mule" card which allows you to transfer funds to a bank account (eg Egg)
* Don't cancel if there are any other fringe benefits you want (eg cash back)
* Keep one card for purchases so you don't have to mix purchases and 0% debt (never a good idea because of the way they allocate payments)
* Supposedly Nationwide never accept you back for the same card twice (but you can apply for each of their cards once each).0
