Auto renewal at double the cost

My insurance company, SAGA, sent my renewal letter the new cost was almost double!! Although the new policy includes three year fixed premiums. I was in disbelief as SAGA, has always treated me fairly.
I phoned their Customer Service who said the increased premiums includes the guaranteed price for three years. When I said I did not want the three years fixed the cost was reduced to my previous premium cost plus 10%!!
If I had automatically agreed the renewal I would hundreds of £worst off…Buyer Beware!
