AA want £98.50 for one month's cover in Europe

I have the basic AA roadside cover and got a quote for breakdown cover etc for an upcoming holiday in France. Couldn't believe the price. It does appear to be the super deluxe cover but still too pricey. Any suggestions?

Try your car insurance company as they sometimes have deals for breakdown & recovery services. Saga and Age Concern certainly offer Breakdown UK & Europe(great if you have hit 50) and if I remember correctly was in region of £59 top wack. I read a thread a good few weeks back regarding this very subject and companies like Green Flag and Europe Assist are far cheaper than AA and RAC. So do phone around.

If you drive a Toyota, join Club Toyota (about £50 a year) and the price includes full RAC Cover in UK and Europe.

    Hi,

Try Norwich Union breakdown. I got full cover excluding european for only £40. RAC wanted an extra £100. Norwich Union cover is provided by the RAC!

    Best regards

Another one to try for just European breakdown cover (if you already have breakdown cover for UK) is vehicle rescue direct - backed by Axa. I've not used them myself but at these prices it's definitely worth a try - I've booked 2 weeks' cover for our driving holiday in France.

Before you criticise a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, when you do criticise him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes.

If you or your partner work for the civil service Brittania offer the CSMA members a good deal, we get deluxe cover which includes 180 days of euro cover for £71!
