in Credit cards
In November I was victim of SIM swapping fraud. Payments to Amazon (and others) were made on my credit cards that were saved there. The security codes were sent to fraudsters who controlled my phone. Since then, I reported the fraud, been reimbursed by credit cards, but still having problems. One of them is that Amazon has suddenly decided that because the credit card company is disputing payments (around £300), they want me to pay up to restore my account and Kindle account. Bad timing, I have been sick and bed ridden for a while so not being able to read books I have paid for sucks. I also did my best to alert Amazon ASAP when the fraud was discovered (they didn't care at the time!). Any suggestions?

What were they buying from Amazon?
You'd need to advise Amazon that the orders were fraudulent and without your authorisation hence the chargebacks. Ideally you'd have done this before the chargebacks went through as "unauthorised purchase" is one of the options in the drop down when you report a problem with an order.0 -
I did ring Amazon as soon as I found out, I managed to cancel some orders that hadn't gone through. I was amazed by the attitude of the person who took my call, they kept on insisting there was no problem...0

Were the payments to Amazon made from your Amazon account, or using your card but on a different account? Eg. did the fraudsters obtain access to both your bank/card details and your Amazon account, just your Amazon account, just your bank account?0
