Morning another Friday, another sigh of relief! The working week is done! Plan is a mixture of getting the weekly chores done and DNMS time
Today:
* whole house tidy & clean - using hm cleaning products = green and frugal
* hang washing on the line - thanks for the inspo Dawn!
* got out the recycled valentines/anniversary cards (3 years ago we decided to keep the same ones and get them out each year)
* Did a meal plan/shopping list to incorporate what we already have = keeping the GC budget low
* sort out my new bank account (for the switch bonus) and 0% spending cc. We have a couple of big ticket expenses this year so wanted the protection of the credit card s75 and also do some stoozing to earn a bit of interest before paying off
* picking up a preloved trundle bed for madam from facebay at lunch - we are redecorating her room. Have set myself the challenge of redecorating 3 rooms (2 bedrooms and the kitchen) this year and the budget is max £1000
* picking up a dehydrator from another facebayer this evening - very excited about this! Anyone else got one?
* drink water throughout the day
* list 4 things for free - slowly reducing our clutter without sending to landfill where possible. Our fortnightly bin for 2 collections has only been one bin bag's worth. I am on a mission to reduce this throughout this year with a mixture of buying less, what I do buy needs to be compostable/recyclable. When buying things it is slightly more expensive and a little more effort, but am doing it so infrequently it all levels out!
* go to a community shop to see if they have a toaster we can have as ours is dying
* spend 30-45 mins in the garden, tidying up, looking to see what's what and thinking about my gardening plans for the coming year
* exercise for free
* read birthday book and have a sauna for relaxation this afternoon.
Ok that's loads. Going to get going and not waste my life online! Hope you all have a great day, happy Galentines!

Evening allNothing spent again today - I am up to 9 no spend days so far this monthHowever, we are going away next week Monday - Friday, with DD2 and family, so it won't last.Today I have been planning what food we will take. We always go self catering and take most of our food with us. I have made little sponge cakes, and will take whipped cream, jam and lemon curd to fill them butterfly style. Also a blackberry and apple pie, to use up some unappetising apples from the fruit bowl, and some foraged blackberries from the freezer. I have got stuff out of the freezer to cook tomorrow, sausages to make a casserole and chicken drumsticks to marinate.Other than that I have mended OH's coat, which he had ripped under the arm. I hate sewing and find it hard due to my arthritic thumbs, so much bad language ensued!OH bathed the dog. I had intended to get him a grooming appointment but ran out of time last week. His excess fur will keep him warm and at least it is clean nowDinner is pesto pasta with (use up) mushrooms, parmesan and pine nuts, as I had some part packets in the freezer. After that I intend to do nothing at all!2

Ooh dnms, we've got a dehydrator but I've not used it for ages. M likes making strawberry sweeties and I've done dehydrated beef too2

Lots of cooking done today to use up stuff so it doesn't go off, and make things to take with us when we go away tomorrow. Also put some in the freezer for when we get back

HelloBeen MIA this week as I have been away, and got back yesterday.Hope everyone is ok.Today's small things:2 loads of washing mostly dried outside on the line (it was the first sunny day here for ages!). Now on the airer to finish off.Sold a bird bath this morning, but they didn't want the concrete bird bath top, only the rather lovely stone pillar thingy that was holding it up. Now added the unwanted top to a considerably less nice, but still ok, concrete pedestal thing, and listed for sale on FB. Hoping it goes as I am trying to free up some space in the garden. Also put a tall, ugly plastic tub outside on the wall free to collect. Hope it has disappeared by morning! I will put it in the bin if it is still there tomorrow evening (bin day is Monday) but would rather it be reused if anyone wants it.Sowed some aubergine seeds.. My chilli seedlings survived fine under the growlight thing while we were away, and are growing well
There are far too many of them, but I am sure I can find homes for the extras.
The fridge is bare and we need lots of pantry items, so improvised meals today. I made tuna, sweetcorn and mayo sandwiches for lunch, and managed to find a bit of greenery in the garden to liven them up a bit, as we have no salad in the fridge. Dinner was pasta mixed with a tub of ratatouille from the freezer that must have been in there for over a year, as I didn't make any last summer, topped with grated cheese and breadcrumbs, then browned under the grill. It was quite tasty.Found a nice old frame in the loft, for a painting gifted by my sis in law, who is a talented artist. It had a frame already, but a nasty (I think) modern one. I much prefer knackered old frames, don't mind at all if they are a bit chipped and damagedI haven't actually seen it in situ yet, as OH has it upside down and clamped as the frame was coming adfrift at one corner. He says I need to wait till his glue is dry, probably tomorrow. Sis in law would probably like the modern frame back, as she was saying how expensive they are, so I will save it for when we next see her. Not sure what she will think of the 'new' old frame when I send her a photo. Our tastes are by no means the same, so I hope she thinks it is ok.
