Invest Engine Information Security Concern

Hi,
I opened an Invest Engine Business account, all appeared well while I had little money in it. When I increased the investment slightly I received an e.mail requesting a lot of personal ID and financial information. I am suspicious, I've had nothing in the "Notifications" section of my account. The e.mailer says they can't do that, assuring me they are Invest Engine (just as a scammer would). the e.mail looks legit, but I'm still unsure. They asked me to e.mail the documents over which I pointed out is contrary to National Cyber Security Centre and Government advice. They sent me an upload portal, again outside my account login, I have no idea if it is real. I may only be sure it's them when they close my account! Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so how did you resolve it? I'm not sure I want to be investing with a company with such a casual attitude to information and account security.

I'd imagine not many people here would have opened a business account with InvestEngine (most forum users are consumers and would have opened personal accounts), but it is quite normal in general for financial institutions to ask for such information and they have provided you with a secure means of sharing it. It is testament to their compliance with their regulatory obligations. As suggested above, use the secure message facility to confirm the email and upload portal are genuine before proceeding. Or you can use their general contact form here: https://help.investengine.com/hc/en-gb/requests/newOut of interest, what sort of business are you running that involves putting larger sums of your company's money into an InvestEngine Business account?

OP - I've had the same thing.
Opened a Business IE account late last year, and a small amount in it - no questions asked.
Increased (substantially) deposits into IE and received the same request for more info: company accounts, source of wealth, Directors home address.
I called them and the request was legit - all part of Anti-Money Laundering/Know Your Customer.0 -
That might be happening to all accounts in such circumstances as it happened to me too. Was no big deal once I checked it was legit.0
