Morning all.
Very dull and dreary here and we are soon driving down to St Albans to meet friends for our monthly walk and pub lunch. I'll be wrapping up warm and hoping not to get too wet. I've volunteered to lead the April walk so will be checking that out in the next few weeks.
Spent an enjoyable evening last night at a pub music session and now have some more tunes to practice ready for a workshop next month.
@Suffolksue; that is absolutely dreadful. Our hospitals are so overrun with patients and I can't see an end to it.

Morning everyone
Dull and dreary here too this morning.
Little one is still much the same though DD managed to take her off her milk feed yesterday for a couple of hours and her sugars didn't drop. They went to a friends house in the afternoon and she had played a bit, but then was completely exhausted and fast asleep before 5pm. We'll see what this week brings, they're booked to go to London for a few days at half term so we're hoping she's better by then. She's only been to school for 8 days when we went back after Christmas.
Thanks for your kind words re my uncle, when I spoke to my Auntie she was hoping the funeral will be next week. Dad talked a lot about him yesterday, I enjoy listening to his stories of when he was a young boy - he remembers them in detail, though can't recall anything of the week just gone or even the previous day.
I went to Homebase yesterday, it is closing next Saturday. It was busy with people looking for a bargain but there's not a lot left . I got the baskets I wanted to go in the top of my wardrobe and a toilet roll holder!
Right best get on, I have work later.
Hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers. Glad you enjoyed the show.
We enjoyed Jimmy Carr - he is very quick and beyond the pale but having seen him before, we knew to expect that. The heckles though! Some people are really cutting and rude!
Had a nice roast chicken dinner when we got home yesterday and we are on a go-slow today. I'm taking Mum food shopping shortly, then we will be clearing DD's bedroom ready to start the decorating. She will move into DS2's bedroom whilst he's at uni.
DH waiting for a start date for the new job. Weirdly he is taking over from a chap who was made redundant from the same place as DH 7 years ago. They overlapped by a week and knew the same people. Very small world considering we live in a tiny village!
Dinner tonight is beef redang(sp) curry. Not had it before but DH has chosen it.
Glad you had a good break @AlwaysAllie x
Good to hear you're on the mend @ScarletRibbons x
Poor DGD @dp1, let's hope she can get back to a routine soon x
That's terrible about your friend @Suffolksue - the headlines re: our NHS are terrible right now. Poor lady.
Have a good day all

Morning all. It's Groundhog Day here - dull, wet, miserable and chilly. It's mornings like these that make me glad I'm of an age when I don't have to get up for work or school runs.
Yesterday turned into a gentle pottering day of small jobs around the house, the ones that get put off because you tell yourself it will only take a few minutes and there's no hurry anyway. I did another wash load, this time hand knits, so that's the laundry up to date. Today will be just the usual housework stuff, nothing exciting planned. I've unearthed some pigs in blankets from the freezer and will be using the sausage part for tonight's tea with mash, veg and onion gravy and the bacon can go in a breakfast bap.
AA - Welcome back from a good break in Wales with kind weather. And what on earth is smell training?
remmie - Sport weekend indeed! It's difficult to avoid - somehow I manage it though.
Ruby - Fingers crossed today's visit with Rob turns out to be The One.
SSue - I hope the old lady is now on a ward. It's not a good state of affairs, is it?
SO - I think we all have messer uppers, be it freezers, cupboards or wherever. I wonder who invites them?
Right, I must prise myself away from this radiator. I've decided to change the bedding and give the bedroom a bit more than a lick and a promise. Have the best day you can and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
Hi everyone,
All is peaceful, Esben has gone back to school after his week off, Brian is in Wales, Laura is at work and Esther went into nursery happily. We seem to have turned the corner there, she's been crying and saying "No nursery" for months. She's quiet happy there but found the transition difficult.
I am going to make chicken stock in a minute (got the M and s meal deal as well). Then have a tidy round.
Have a good day.13 -
Well Good Morning all I am back for good this time i have been reading along but with having DGS staying here Mon-Wed has been exhausting the drive to collect him was the worst round the M25 but that is all stopped now as his mum DD2 is on maternity leave with a new brother due in March but probably earlier as she has pregnancy cholestasis which means her liver is having problems last time it was pre -eclampsia so i did say make this the last one. DD1 is also expecting a baby in August so far other than all day sickness she is good . So 2 new babies for us this year
DH is starting his last year of work as he retires in March next year but other than that life continues as normal still trying to make this house our home but somethings cannot be changed as they have always been silly things to some a tiny bit of plaster on the ceiling missing that was where the big paper ball went at xmas and skirting boards that my dad and grandsha put in when my parents bought the house still we are getting there
Right enough rambling from me i promise to be here daily during the week from now on
Have a good day one and all xxSlava Ukraini13 -
Morning (just) allJust back from outlet centre where there is a Charity shop that I took mine and DH's wardrobe clearout from last week to. Got myself some cheap jogging bottoms for knocking about indoors and some more bird food for the feeder. Journey took 45 minutes instead of 20ish normally which is why I'm late on here today!Just been in garden to top up the bird feeder and someone is having a burn up somewhere. It's dark and misty anyway and looks even gloomier with all the smoke.Hope everyone has a good day x11

Morning all! Marmalade making day today, I've cooked the oranges, now to go and chop them up. I spent yesterday collecting all the stuff in the garden to go to the tip tomorrow, there's a fair bit, i think my boot will be full this time. Shame it's weeing down now because it's all going to be soaking still tomorrow. ROD is still ongoing but shoving everything into one corner makes it look far more spacious!Coxy, congrats to your OH for his new job...dp1, sorry about your uncle..Suffolksue, how awful for her, don't let me get started on what was done to the NHS. Allie, what is smell training? Is that where someone says something smells and you have to pretend you smelled it? It does sound a bit ridiculous..Glad you had a nice time away though..Take care all, poodles too....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi12

Its my usual Monday off. This morning excitement was my new saucepans arriving. Went back to bed for a lie in. Nothing else to report will just be a pottering around day.
Have a nice day
