Morning all. It's another dull and dreary day with mist and on/off drizzle but feeling a little bit milder.
Welcome back Scarlet, glad to hear the eye surgery went well. Welcome to Antomac too.
DS popped in yesterday and stayed for lunch and a chinwag. He's recently taken up a new post at work, one that doesn't involve as much driving around the country, and seems a lot happier. After that, I did a wash-load of darks - dried on the airer of course - followed by a freshen up wash of my winter coat that's drying on a coat hanger over the curtain rail in the spare bedroom. I did a bit of sewing in the afternoon followed by TV and knitting in the evening.
No particular plans again for today and I doubt I'll be out for a walk either, it's much too miserable, but I'm sure I'll find something to do. I'm another one who'll be watching Call the Midwife tonight and then over onto BBC4 for An Evening with Nat King Cole. He's been one of my favourite singers since I was a little girl. Dinner today is cooked beef slices from the freezer with mash and steamed cabbage.
dp1 - So sorry to hear about your uncle, enjoy the fond memories.
Enjoy what's left of the weekend, take care and stay safe. Hugs if they're needed. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all,it's a bit grey today but no rain as yet. Thanks Gers, the lightshow sounded good,Scarlet pleased the eye surgery went well.Just caught up on yesterdays thread, & pleased to see it's not just me having probs with M/s short leg lengths!Busy football day yesterday, DGS team came back from losing to winning so he was in a good mood, and in the afternoon our match went well. Just him ,myself and DS2 watching,DGD had just had a filling and was still numb so stayed at home with her friend. DS1 declined in favour of watching in a pub with a pal & food and warmth. DH still feels like he can't manage the stadium steps yet. He has an appointment with the consultant who has kindly slotted him in next week.Roast chicken dinner today, followed by apple pie for the men. I think I'll make myself a low carb pud or cake too.Pooch gave me a surprise on our walk, instead of turning straight into the wooded area across the road she let us walk down the main road for a bit before we went in. She only ever does this on a Sunday, & I think it's because there's hardly any traffic
It was nice to have a bit longer out with her though instead of her usual 5 minutes before she turns round to head home
Hope Sunday is a good day for you all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -

Good morning
I hope everyone is ok
Yesterday's plan went ok, sains shopped, got of bus went to a charity shop found nothing. Next non charity shop, stocked up on toileteries. Then went home was too cold stay out. Played switch most of the day.
Nothing planned today but I am going to put some of my council tax money, which is now fully paid up till March-towards getting new cooking pots and oven gloves. One of the handles on one pot is loose and them and oven gloves have seen better days.
Ill have a general tidy round and got switch, kindle or even bit of programmes to keep me entertained.
Dinner chicken with something
hugs to those who need them10
