Home reports

Are they even accurate? I discovered damp in a property i viewed home report said no damp outside I found a previous sale you could see water damage to the rough casting and the marks remained and on bedroom wall a poorly patched over mark which looked like water ingress. Agent lied and said no damp so anybody else had this experience? I’ve been wanting to move but this puts me off!

Has the damp been dealt with but the  patch on the bedroom wall not  redecorated, only patched up.

You could ask the surveyor who did the home report about it.

You could always get your own survey done..

No they are rubbish. The last one I had started with 'Late Victorian property empty and unfurnished'
It was a stone cottage built in the 1600's - NOBODY could mistake it for Victorian - and I was buying it with a tenant and her two kids and all their stuff in situ. So I didn't think the rest of it was going to be very accurate either.
