Panasonic TV not playing sound from devices plugged in via HDMI

Thought it was Virgin box initially but just plugged in a Fire stick to another HDMI port (and tried both in all of the three ports) and none have any sound.
Using the native Freeview/apps installed in the TV means sound works perfectly. It's via an external Samsung soundbar and nothing else had changed.
TV was new November 23 so will go back to retailers to see what they can offer but any ideas of anything else wet can try? Sadly only 3 ports and none work, tried other cables too

What are your sound options set to? I have HDMI audio, Optical Audio etc. and several other options that enable or disable
certain input/output options.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...1 -
It's set to the soundbar as it always has been, and like I say the TV itself is playing sound through the soundbar fine, it's just when we introduce the HDMI ports:eek::eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20170

If I go to the TV's sound settings and change the setting from what is should be on (PCM from memory) to the only other setting then change it back again it magically works! I have never been able to get to the bottom of this so have just learnt to live with it. It seems to happen most often with an Amazon Fire TV stick but it has definitely happened with other HDMI devices as well so I assume it must be a TV issue.1 -
Maybe something obvious, but have you tried switching HDMI port? Are you using HDMI-ARC? Sometimes only one port will use ARC.0

The OP says twice that all 3 HDMI ports have been tried.1 -

Is it a 4K set?0

thanks, I tried adjusting the tv audio settings but no joy, thankfully tomorrow’s football is on player so we can still watch it.
The model is TX-50MX600B and yes I believe it’s 4k. I know we’re all struggling and keep rubbing our eyes at the SD via the TV apps!:eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20170 -
If it is 4K, there should be a setting under each HDMI socket in the menus for "HDMI Deep Colour" at least that's what LG call it Panasonic may use a different term. You need to turn it off for any HDMI socket where a non 4K device is connected to get sound. Yes I know it says colour but it should work to enable sound.0

There was a setting on each HDMI that was set to enhanced so changed to regular but still no joy.
Will try another tv with the virgin box tomorrow, and if that has sound will ring AO/Panasonic.
Thanks for all the suggestions though:eek::eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20170
